Dad Euthanizes Family’s Pit Bull After the Dog Attacked & Killed 1-Year-Old Girl

A 1-year-old Ohio girl died July 2, 2025, after her family’s pit bull attacked her. Blakely Blosser’s mother tried to stop the dog, but there was nothing she could do. Blakey suffered fatal wounds to her face and neck. Now, her family has to deal with the devastating loss of their innocent baby girl.

Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell said deputies responded to a home in Dover Township around 6 p.m. July 2, WOIO reported. Dispatchers reportedly received a call but were unable to hear anyone. They ultimately got in touch with Blakely’s mother, Nicole Blosser, who said a dog killed her baby. When deputies arrived, they pronounced Blakely dead at the scene.

“It was about as terrible of a ordeal as we’ve come across in a long time,” Campbell said.

Blosser reportedly told police the dog never showed aggression toward people.

“While it had shown, had a couple of incidents of aggression towards other dogs, it did not towards the people. They didn’t have any sign of this,” Campbell said, per WOIO.

Blakely’s father, who was not home at the time, reportedly euthanized the dog when he returned home.

“Our little Peach loved pushing her pink wagon, taking tractor rides with daddy, playing Peek-a-Boo and Pat-a-Cake with mommy, and meowing out the window at Panther the cat. She loved her stroller time, playing ‘monkey on the bed’, and making mommy smell her feet,” her obituary reads. “Blakely never wanted to miss a moment, so she fought hard to skip her naps and stay awake to party.”

Her family is finding comfort in their faith during this extremely difficult time.

“Blakely is now held in the arms of the Savior, embraced by a love that is pure, eternal, and without pain or suffering,” Blakely’s obituary shares. “While we ache for the presence of Blakely here on earth, we hold onto the hope that death is not the end. Through Jesus Christ, there is life beyond this world—a life where tears are wiped away and all things are made new.”

Dover Apostolic Church Family created a GoFundMe account for Blakely’s family. It’s raised more than $17,000 thus far.
