Dad Is Shameless After Buying His 1-Year-Old an Apartment & Fancy Clothes for Her Birthday

We all like to spoil our kids from time to time, but a dad from Florida has been accused of going way overboard. Originally from Manchester, England, 51-year-old Barrie Drewitt-Barlow revealed that he bought his 1-year-old daughter Valentine an apartment worth more than $821,023.20 and more than $82,000 in designer baby clothes.

“We do spoil her that’s for sure and it’s never going to stop," the dad told The Sun.

Valentina was born in September 2020 via surrogate, and since then she’s really lived the life.

Barlow and his fiancé 25-year-old Scott Hutchison recently celebrated the now 1-year-old’s birthday, and although most 1-year-olds are getting something colorful from Fisher Price, Valentine had a more elevated wish list.

“I bought her an apartment worth £600,000 in Manchester as an investment for the future,” Barlow told The Sun. That's about $726,000 USD.

Valentina’s older sister, Saffron, who is in her 20s, also has an apartment in the same building.

“Saffron bought an apartment in the same building so we thought it would be nice to have one for her sister there too,” Barlow said. “There are many footballers in the building too."

The dad also hired a personal shopper for Valentina “to go out around London and buy her a selection of designer clothes.”

“She spent around £60K on them,” the dad said. “They are only going to fit her until after Christmas because she is growing so fast."

The infant already has a closet full of designer clothes.

“She has several pair of Ugg boots and many Burberry, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Versace already,” Barlow said. “A real, spoilt little madam. Saffron buys her Gucci socks and won't let me put anything else on her."

Meanwhile, Valentina’s other dad, Scott, kept things simple — and bought her a diamond Tiffany bracelet valued at £40K [about $48,000 USD] and a Tiffany love heart necklace.

Of course, we all think our little ones deserve the best, but Barlow described his daughter as being “such a sweetheart.”

“She just turned a year old and she is developing a brilliant personality,” he continued. “We didn’t know what to get the baby that already has everything for her birthday, so bought her a flat."

“She is turning into a real little girl now,” he added.

But don’t worry about Barlow and his fiancé running low on grocery money any time soon.

Barlow owns a number of businesses under his global medical research company — including a surrogacy agency.

“We earn our money, nobody gave us anything,” he said. "We are not old money with inheritance. We made and still make every penny we earn. We work long hours and seven days of the week.”

The dad boasted that in 2020 he made about £14 million [about $17 million USD] and in 2021 he expected to make about £20 million [over $24 million USD] just from the vaccine clinical trials he organized for COVID-19.

“Some people have said we are like the old-fashioned war profiteers making so much money from misery, but if we didn't, someone else would,” he said. “This gives us our lifestyle and I'm not apologizing for it.”
