A California father is fighting for his life after a stray bullet from an apparent shooting hit him. Run Hua Kuang was reportedly taking a nap at his home in East Oakland on August 1 when he was struck. Police are now investigating what prompted the shooting.
His sister Jasmine Kuang created a GoFundMe account for her brother's family and explained that he is the sole provider for his wife of seven years and their 3-year-old and 7-month-old daughters. On the day of the shooting, Kuang had just returned home from his job as a delivery driver and decided to lie down for a nap.

The bullet came through the wall.
According to Mercury News, the incident occurred in the afternoon at a home in the 2200 block of East 19th Street. No one else was injured during the shooting.
A bullet penetrated Kuang's bedroom wall and went through the headboard, per the GoFundMe page. It then "went straight through his head and out his left eye," his sister wrote.
Kuang underwent extensive surgery.
Jasmine Kuang wrote on the fundraiser page that her brother endured a seven-hour surgery and is now on life support in the intensive care unit.
"This shocking incident has left the entire family traumatized and in deep distress. This tragedy has created a severe financial burden for our family," she wrote.
The family is facing another obstacle.
According to his sister, Kuang and his family moved to the United States from China in 2005. He is the only member of his immediate family who speaks "limited English" and handles family communication. They have no income and are praying for a significant change.
"We are keeping Hua in our prayers for a miracle. We are sincerely grateful for any financial support that you can provide," Jasmine Kuang wrote.
The GoFundMe account has been very successful.
Since its creation, the fundraiser has raised nearly $180,000 of its $250,000 goal. Many people have shared kind thoughts with the family of the injured delivery driver.
"I'm also an Asian delivery truck driver, Very hard work, I wish the family strength through this tragic event," one person wrote.
"I know we're probably not related, but to hear that you're also a Kuang, and that you and your family are from Taishan and moved to the Bay Area (like my parents), just hits home on another level. I pray that you fully recover my Brother; I will forever have you and your family in my thoughts," another donor shared.
Many sent prayers. "I pray for Hua's 100% recovery. I pray he, his wife, kids, and parents receive support and assistance in getting back onto a productive life," another person commented.
