Police in Wisconsin have arrested a 20-year-old father after he allegedly threw his baby while playing video games. Jalin White, 20, reportedly became aggravated while losing during NBA 2K and threw his 8-month-old son into the wall. The baby’s mother apparently noticed something was wrong with the infant when she returned home later that day. The unnamed mother reportedly took the baby to her father, and the pair called 911 for help.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by WISN, White reportedly told police several stories before admitting he threw the baby. Sadly, an investigation revealed the baby showed signs of past abuse. Now, White faces felony child abuse charges.

At first, White allegedly told a different story about what happened.
According to the criminal complaint, White repeatedly had excuses for how the baby’s injuries occurred. First, he said the baby’s mother hit his head on a door frame. He also said that injuries occurred when the infant fell during a diaper change. Later, the father alleged he dropped the baby while playing video games. But eventually, he told police what had really happened.
White reportedly threw the infant out of frustration.
Per the complaint, White said, “‘My son hit his head on the wall. He hit his head hard on the wall, bro. I swear he hit his head hard on the wall’ and ‘I heard the wall, it was hard on his head. It was hard. It was a loud hard wall,’ and ‘I heard the impact of the wall after I tossed him,'” the complaint states.
The infant suffered serious injuries.
WISN reported hospital staff treated the baby for life-threatening injuries. Medical experts reportedly told police they believed the child faced abuse in the past.
“Which have multiple injuries indicating that the victim had been abused multiple ways over some time,” Assistant District Attorney Madeline Witte said. The baby’s injuries reportedly showed different stages of healing, indicating a pattern of abuse.

The infant may not survive.
According to WISN, Milwaukee County Court Commissioner Andrea Bolender said in court that the infant suffered such severe injuries he may not survive.
“The medical personnel have indicated that, sadly, this child is not expected to live,” Bolender said. “Which would increase these charges to a homicide,” she said.
Court officials stated that if convicted of the felony child abuse charge, White could face more than 60 years in prison. If the baby dies, the sentence could be even harsher. Per online jail records, White currently sits in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
