As moms, we can always trust our kids to have our backs. And, we can also be sure they’ll tell the world our business whether we want them to or not. Perhaps we can blame that on ourselves, though. If we don’t want anyone to know, it’s best not to say anything in front of the tiniest reporters. Mom Brandi Lister learned this the hard way as she prepared for a colonoscopy.
Unfortunately, Lister was in the middle of the dreaded colonoscopy prep when the doorbell rang. We’ll just say this about the prep: If you know, you know. Brandi’s daughter let the whole neighborhood in on her mom’s plight, and the parents caught it all on the family’s doorbell camera. For all those colonoscopy warriors, this one’s for you.

A couple of kids showed up at the Listers' house to play.
The boys seemed polite and rang the doorbell asking if the kids inside could play. Next, Brandi’s daughter lets the boys know that her mom is home but gives a warning. “She’s gonna poop like crazy,” she says.
Of course, the boys, knowing nothing of colonoscopy prep, thought this was hilarious and started laughing.
Lister's daughter did not see the humor in her statement.
She swiftly scolded the boys for laughing, like any good caretaker would. “Stop. It’s not funny,” she declared.
The girl then tells the boys that her mother has to have surgery when it’s all over. “It’s not funny at all,” she says again.
One little boy couldn't care less about the colonoscopy and just wanted her to come out and play.
He asks her if her mom “already started” and then asks if she can come out to play anyway. The boy then says, “I can’t stop laughing.”
The little girl reappears and says, “She’s started already. Oh it’s bad.”
The boys then run off the porch, continuing to giggle.

Lister shared the video with her local news station.
KCCI posted the video to the station’s Facebook page, and it got a lot of laughs. A few people could understand the sentiment as they did their own colonoscopy prep.
Like this person who wrote, “I needed to see this, my colonoscopy is tomorrow!” And this one who commented, “Mine is 8 am tomorrow! It’s bad…. Really bad!!!” Someone joked, “She’s got buns of steel for sharing this!!”
One person claimed to know the family, and it sounds like Lister’s daughter is always good for a laugh or two. “I know them personally and they are great people!!! This little girl is always so honest!! Lol,” the person wrote.
