A Texas mom is missing, and her 10-year-old daughter desperately wants her to come home. Jeanie Chavez, 32, was last seen north of Downtown San Antonio on July 15. Chavez has a history of addiction and was planning to go to rehab just days before she disappeared. Now, her family just wants her to come home.
Chavez's mom, Annie Salcido, lives in California, and told KENS she'd spoken with her daughter about going to rehab, and she was ready to make a change. But on July 15, Salcido reportedly received a text from Chavez's boyfriend saying she was too embarrassed to tell her family, but she wasn't going to rehab. Salcido doesn't believe it and now worried something might have happened to her daughter.

Chavez made some bad choices.
The concerned mother told KENS that her daughter is a good person whose life took a turn, and she got involved with drugs.
"She's an amazing person who lost her way a little bit, and has just kind of turned into hanging out with some different people, that have just not been good for her life," Salcido said.
She added that Chavez was ready to go to rehab.
"She was kind of excited about it. She had a conversation with her daughter, who's 10, and basically just said, 'you know mom, I'm done. I'm tired. You know I really want to go," she continued.
Salcido said her daughter was never embarrassed to tell the truth.
On July 15, Chavez's boyfriend allegedly texted Salcido and said she didn't want to go to rehab, but something seemed off.
"My daughter's never been embarrassed enough to tell us anything. Like she doesn't have that kind of embarrassment where she's going to say, you know, not tell us where she's going. Like, she would have called us and told us that herself, so that was one red flag," said Salcido.
A week later, she received a strange call. "He said, 'Jeanie left my house. She's no longer here,' and I said, 'What do you mean she's no longer here?' 'She didn't want to be here. She left, somebody picked her up,'" she continued.
Salcido called police.
She wasn't satisfied with what her daughter's boyfriend had to say and begged the San Antonio police department for help. Chavez reportedly left personal things behind, like photos, a journal, and her phone. Her mother said something was not right.
"I just want to know, and I just want some peace and some closure for this. Give this 10-year-old some peace that her mom is OK, or her mom isn't OK," said Salcido.

Chavez's daughter echoed her grandmother's concern.
Her daughter, Leah Garcia, told KENS 5 she's upset by the whole situation. "I try not to think about it because it gets me sad."
She begged anyone with information to contact her family, "If anybody has her, please call us. If my mom can hear this, know that I love you, and you're going to be okay," Garcia said.
