Influencer Jasmine Yong’s 2-Year-Old Dies After Drowning in a Hotel Pool While She Slept

A Malaysian social media influencer’s toddler son died while their family was on a Mother’s Day vacation. Jasmine Yong announced on Instagram that her 2-year-old son, Enzo, had drowned in a hotel pool while she and her husband, Lim Kong Wang, were sleeping.

Young said the entire family lay down to nap on May 11, but when the adults awoke, they discovered little Enzo was gone.

The mother took to Instagram to tell her tragic story and begged for the rumor mill not to start. She claims Enzo’s death was an accident, and she wants the world to let her “baby leave in peace.”

The family was hoping to enjoy Mother's Day weekend.

Young explained on Instagram that after they checked into the hotel the day before Mother’s Day, the family decided to take a nap.

“Snuggled around us drinking milk and fell asleep as always We went on to nap and woke up and he wasn’t there,” the translated post reads.

When the parents awoke, they couldn’t find Enzo and they desperately searched for their son.

It seems the toddler got out of the room and made his way to the pool.

During their search, Yong and her husband noticed an unlocked door. “The originally locked door of the indoor swimming pool had been opened,” she explained.

Enzo was in the water unresponsive, and Yong immediately began CPR to try to revive her son while her husband yelled for help.

The couple ultimately made their way down to the hotel lobby.

Because they were unable to get help to their room, the parents reportedly took the unresponsive toddler to the lobby. Yong wrote that staff tried to revive Enzo while they waited for an ambulance to arrive.

“Half an hour after being sent to the hospital for rescue, the baby finally recovered his heartbeat but still in a coma,” she recalled.

Sadly, he died at the hospital a few days later.

The family is heartbroken.

Yong lamented that no one wants these types of accidents to occur, and she asked that people give her family grace as they navigate the devastating loss of their child.

“Things are not complicated. Don’t mistake any rumors. Protecting the baby and family is the greatest comfort to us,” she wrote.
