A mother recently shared a video on TikTok of one of her three children receiving a “magical makeover” at Disneyland's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Anaheim, California. The video has garnered over 8 million views and received backlash from conservatives on Twitter. It shows an employee with a mustache wearing a dress and makeup. The employee identified themselves as “Nick” in the mom’s video and was greeting her daughter for her royal makeover experience.
Kourtni, the mother, appeared pleased with her daughter’s experience and captioned the video, “A dream is a wish your heart makes, when you’re fast asleep.” But critics on Twitter had a lot of opinions about the Disneyland employee.

Critics seemingly ignored the little girl's magical experience and transformation the mom shared in her video.
Kourtni and her daughter both appeared to be having the time of their lives at Disneyland and were both visibly ecstatic during the makeover process. But that didn't deter Twitter users from finding fault with the Disney employee. Employee Nick had a mustache, dress uniform, and brightly colored eye shadow, and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the job, cheerfully smiling and waving at the kids in Kourtni’s video.
There were many noticeable highlights in the TikTok video, such as the steep prices of the children’s costumes and Disney dresses, ranging from $250 to $450, or Kourtni’s daughter “Princess Finley’s” gorgeous princess makeover. But the critics felt the need to have their say anyway.
The criticism was harsh.
Twitter user Rachel Campos-Duffy, who is a cohost on Fox News, according to her bio, wrote, “Disney putting the desires of a mentally unstable adult male ahead of the joy, innocence & “magical” experience of little girls pretty much sums up the cultural revolution we are living through.”
Another user, Peachy Keenan, author of Domestic Extremist wrote: “A man in drag is not only bizarre and inappropriate but it takes guests out of the "show" – the illusion is broken. Nothing matters but the agenda and your 4 yo is a pawn they are happy to mind flay.”
Roy Parett, who identified as a conservative in his bio wrote: “While Disney stock continues to tank, thousands of employees are fired, and CEO Bob Iger carries on with woke policies, that are driving away traditional fans from the brand. New fairy godmother in Disneyland children’s attraction is a man in drag.”
Disney created a more inclusive policy for employee titles last year.
The previous title for employees holding the role that the mustached employee was holding was “Fairy Godmother in Training” but in an effort to be more inclusive, Disney changed this title to “Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices” in 2022, reported the New York Post. The company released a statement on the intention behind this change.
The statement read, “This way, cast members that might not identify as female can still be part of the process to dress up and style the children without having to refer to themselves as a female Disney character,” the outlet reported.

Meanwhile, TikTok users applauded and celebrated the Disneyland employee.
Despite the onslaught of disapproval on Twitter, Disneyland employee Nick received much love and support on TikTok throughout the comments on the mom's video.
One user wrote: “Nick looks like he loves his job. Hard to find these days.”
"Umm excuse ME can Nick be my bff?" commented another. "This made me tear up. Good job, Disney."
Other users pointed out they had also encountered Nick at the park before and had positive experiences. “I’m obsessed with Nick, slaying every time I see them at Disney,” one wrote.
Another commented: “Nick is awesome he did my daughters hair and make up. He made her experience awesome and sprinkled lots of fairy dust.”
Still another user said they were going to book the experience just to see Nick. “Booking just for Nick,” they wrote.
