Man Who Vowed ‘We’re Going To Kill’ Trump Warns Supporters: Enjoy Him ‘While You Can’

A man incarcerated at a correctional facility in South Carolina is facing an indictment after threatening to kill President Donald Trump, but this isn’t the first time Eric Rome Jr. has threatened the life of a sitting president. He also threatened Barack Obama and Joe Biden. His motivations for the threats aren’t clear, but he seems to believe that the presidents are a key point to what’s wrong with society. So in his mind, their deaths could lead to some sort of improvement. Currently, all his death threats are doing is adding to the time he will spend behind bars.

“Enjoy having Trump in office while you can,” 37-year-old Rome warned in a January 6, 2026, letter sent to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews in Chicago, according to his federal indictment.

“These are guarantees!” he vowed in the letter, per the indictment. “We are also going to shoot Ambassador Mike Huckabee and his daughter, Sarah.”

He is currently serving time for armed robbery at the Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia, South Carolina, Law & Crime reported. In the past, Rome has described himself as a white supremacist who is a member of both the Aryan Brotherhood of South Carolina and the “Proud Boys,” the outlet reported.

His threats went beyond Trump. Rome also made threats against Christian and Jewish people and shared aggression toward Israel for its treatment of Palestinians in Gaza.

He also claimed that he and other members of the Aryan Brotherhood would “begin hunting” people in the future. “We … are not going to sit idle,” he wrote in the letter.

In 2021, Eric Rome threatened the lives of Biden and Kamala Harris. “Our intent is war on the federal government and specifically the assassination of the feds,” he said in a voicemail.

“We will execute the old man and post videos of his death on as many web platforms as we can,” he said, according to the federal indictment. “I’ve … planned to get out of this prison … and carry out a sniper attack on Joe Biden and take his life. I’m willing to die in the attempt.”

The threats against Biden and Harris came after he called the South Carolina Department of Corrections and threatened the life of Obama in 2014.

“When I get out … I’m pretty sure I’m going to shoot the President,” he said, according to the indictment. “I just figured I’d let you know.”

According to a news release from the US Attorney’s Office, District of South Carolina, Rome “signed his full name” on the letter.

He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and restitution. When he finishes his robbery sentence in 2030, he will begin serving a five-year sentence for the previous convictions.
