The search is on for a Georgia teen who left home in the early hours of January 7. The family says Hydi Cain, 16, was barefoot and in pajamas when she left their residence in Fayetteville alone. No one has seen her or heard from her since.
According to the Missing Persons Cases Network’s Facebook page, Hydi may have been suffering a mental health crisis the day she left home. Loved ones fear the worst as the days have passed with no contact.

Hydi may have been having trouble at work.
According to a Facebook post from her mother, Sidney Fyffe, Hydi worked at Chick-fil-A and allegedly had a conflict with a coworker in the days leading up to her disappearance. The mother claimed someone at the restaurant took down flyers meant to help spread the word about her daughter’s disappearance and reportedly “refused to help in an investigation and week before she disappeared she was verbally assaulted in a sexual nature by a coworker that is my age. AND THEY DIDNT FIRE HIM ON THE SPOT. AND THAT HIT HER HARD.”
She may have changed her appearance.
The Missing Persons Cases Network claimed on Facebook that Hydi was having difficulty when she left home.
“She was experiencing some type of mental health episode when she went missing. She may have died her hair black and I attached a photo of what that would look like,” a post reads.
The group posted a flyer with several images of the missing teen, including one in which her hair was altered to make it appear darker.
Some people think she may be hiding.
The teenager typically kept active on TikTok, posting multiple videos a day, but she has not posted since January 6. Fyffe posted on Facebook that flyers about the missing teen disappeared from stores. One follower said that she might know why.
“I remember running away when I was 14 and my mom put flyers up. I went to some of those places and took the flyers down. (In no way am I saying that my situation is anything like hers!!)” one person commented.
Fyffe is desperate to find her daughter.
She has posted numerous times on social media since she last saw her daughter, hoping to bring her home. On January 8, she wrote about how hard it is to be a mom of a teenager.
“Being a parent of an almost adult is the hardest thing I have ever done. They think they know what is out there. But they don’t," she wrote. "Y’all please help me bring my daughter home safe. Share this post.”

Her mother is working with a private investigator.
Fyffe created a GoFundMe page to attempt to raise money to help find Hydi. She explained on the fundraiser page that she was able to gather enough money to pay for a retainer, but “fees are ongoing as the investigation continues.”
Thus far, she has raised $575 of a $20,000 goal.
