The crash took place just before 7 p.m. Sunday.

Fox 35 reported the accident happened early in the evening at San Miguel Street and Laurel Avenue in Poinciana. The teenage driver from Kissimmee was driving a 2012 Chevy Impala in the northbound lane of Laurel Avenue when he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign, speeding through the intersection. He reportedly crashed into the side of Trinidad Hernandez's Honda HR-V.

The Honda spun and ultimately hit a light pole.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the grandmother and her three children died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to Fox 35. A 52-year-old man, later identified as Sabrina Hernandez's father, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The teenage driver also received severe injuries in the crash, and his three 15-year-old male passengers had minor injuries.

Sabrina Hernandez's son had called and said they'd be home in 15 minutes.

The heartbroken mother told Fox 35 she knew something was wrong when her mother was late.

"My son called me and said, 'Mommy we're 15 minutes away.' I said, 'OK, I'll see you in a bit. I love you.' And he said, 'I love you, too,'" Hernandez said. She never spoke to her children again.

When they didn't arrive home, she called her son and her parents, and no one answered. She found out about the horrible accident when she arrived at the hospital.

"I'm dying inside. I don't get to see my children anymore, I don't get to see my mother anymore," she told the news outlet.

The children's father shared his anguish on social media.

Mickey Hernandez Morcilio posted a photo of his children with a heartbroken message. "Life will no longer be the same. I lost what was mines and nothing can bring that back. I'm hurt, I'm torn and I'm out of words. I planned to give you guys the life me and mommy always wanted and you guys we're very aware and excited. We are trying to stay as strong as possible," he wrote.

"To know that I can't touch you guys, hear your voices or even lay eyes on you guys breaks me!" he continued. "God please hold my baby's tight, tell them mommy and daddy are doing just fine. I miss you guys so much! I'm out of words … I'm lost with no direction but I promise to live for you guys."

Friends shared condolences.

"Yoh Holy Spirit please comfort them. Strengthen them and help their minds," someone wrote. "May they not blame themselves or give up on life. Please give them courage and comfort in Jesus' name. Amen."

"Please lord strengthen them," a friend prayed.

"May the Lord give you the strength you need to overcome this unthinkable tragedy. My heart goes out to you and your family God bless you guys. Keep your faith strong and eyes on Jesus," one donor shared.
