Police in Georgia desperately needed the public’s help finding a nonverbal missing child. Indi Bullock, 5, reportedly jumped from the balcony of his family’s home at the Reflections on Sweetwater Apartments in Lawrenceville, on March 27, 2025. Police said the child disappeared around 4:25 p.m., and a search began and continued through the night. More than 18 hours later, police still had no sign of Indi, who reportedly left home without shoes and was wearing a black shirt and green shorts.
According to a statement from Gwinnett County Police, upon learning of Indi’s disappearance, police coordinated efforts with several other agencies. Together, they launched a massive search. Investigators thoroughly searched the area with K9s and scaled a retention pond.
“Gwinnett Fire has deployed the Swift Water Rescue Team to continue searching the retention pond. Hall County Sheriff’s Department has responded with their search dive team,” the release explained. “The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department is on scene with additional manpower to aid in the ground search. Gwinnett Emergency Management is on the scene, coordinating additional resources. GCPD has been actively searching since the child was reported missing, with officers from various specialized units across the department to assist in the effort.”
Per the Gwinnett Daily Post, “The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department is on scene with additional manpower to aid in the ground search,” Corporal Ryan Winderweedle said. “Gwinnett Emergency Management is on the scene, coordinating additional resources. GCPD has been actively searching since the child was reported missing, with officers from various specialized units across the department to assist in the effort.”
Gwinnett County Police Sergeant James Lawson told the media on March 27 that Indi’s mother called for help immediately.
“There is no reason to believe that there is any suspicion at this time,” Lawson said at the time. “Nothing credible suggests there’s anything other than when he jumped over the balcony he wandered off.”
He added, “It’s very encouraging to know that citizens of Gwinnett County are all coming together and attempting to locate this juvenile.”
On Friday morning, the search for Indi reportedly intensified. Unfortunately, his body was found in a retention pond not far from his home late in the morning, Fox 5 reported.
