Police Say Firefighter Threw 75 ‘Possibly Used’ Tampons on Ex’s Front Lawn in Bizarre Revenge Scheme

Sometimes, breakups can be particularly difficult for couples. They can leave people feeling big emotions that might lead them to do things they wouldn’t typically do. We’ve seen plenty of crimes of passion that have ended in blood, but allegations against a Florida firefighter might be the most bizarre to date.

Firefighter Gabrielle Franze, who works with Orange County Fire Rescue, apparently decided to exact some revenge against an ex who started dating someone new. According to court documents obtained by Law & Crime, Franze visited the DeLand home of her unidentified former boyfriend on September 29, 2025, around 10 p.m. Surveillance footage from the home reportedly showed a dark truck driving past the house very slowly. When the traffic cleared, a woman, whom police believe was Franze, threw something out of the truck.

The following morning, the couple reportedly made a positively foul discovery on the front lawn. They found approximately 75 tampons “stained red as if they were possibly used,” police noted.

Morgan Rhodes, who claimed to be a victim of the gross crime, shared on Facebook in a post that has since been made private that Franze allegedly “threw over 100+ tampons with suspected blood on them into our yard and driveway.”

Rhodes expressed her disgust with the incident and with Franze’s alleged actions. “Firefighters are supposed to stand for honor and integrity — yet she chose to do something like this, and was arrested for stalking,” she wrote in her post. “That’s how you ruin a badge and reputation.”

Police went to Franze’s house to interview her. Although she initially denied any involvement, she later told police, “It was not her idea,” per Law & Crime. She confessed, revealing that she, her mother, and her aunt had come up with the plan. They allegedly painted the tampons to make them look used and tossed them on the ex-boyfriend’s lawn. Authorities concluded Franze’s intention was to harass the victim.

Police arrested Franze, who faces misdemeanor stalking charges, according to WFTV. The fire department put her on leave while the case is investigated.

Yikes! That man must have been something really special to go through all of that and risk her career.
