Authorities in Texas have released information about a murder-suicide. Salvador Ramirez allegedly shot and killed his wife and their toddler before killing himself in front of their home. Thus far, authorities have not released any possible motive Ramirez may have had for killing his family. Those who have lived in their neighborhood for many years, however, expressed surprise that something like that could happen in such a quiet area.
Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at a house in Conroe, around 3:45 p.m. on October 23, 2025, officials shared in a news release. “Upon arrival, deputies located three deceased individuals just outside the home,” the statement read.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Major Crimes division and crime scene investigators were on the scene to put together an investigation. At the time of the statement, no details were given about the case, including the manner of death or reasons for the killings.
“Preliminary facts and evidence suggest the incident is believed to be a murder-suicide involving one adult male, one adult female, and one child,” the statement read.
The two adults were identified as 52-year-old Salvador Ramirez, 39-year-old Maria Ramirez, and a 3-year-old boy who was not named.
At the time, the deaths were called an “isolated incident,” and authorities said there was no threat to the community.
The following day, authorities with the sheriff’s office confirmed the situation was a murder-suicide, Click2Houston reported. A pistol was recovered at the scene.
It is believed Salvador Ramirez shot his wife and son, killing them before he killed himself.
“This is a tragic event. It will shock people’s conscience to see this kind of thing happening in our community, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family members, especially those who have discovered this horrible incident,” Sheriff Wesley Doolittle said, per Click2Houston.
People who live in the neighborhood spoke with the outlet, sharing concern but also shock that something like a murder-suicide could happen so close to their own front doors.
“It’s scary, it’s dangerous,” neighbor Carlos Delgado said. “Something like that happened too close to our house.”
