When we become parents, it’s our responsibility to love and protect our kids. The things we did during those carefree, childless days should go out the window. Finding a balance between kid time and adult time can be challenging, but it’s important. Ohio dad Ty Gracie learned this firsthand on February 16, 2026. The 39-year-old reportedly went to Bubba’s 33 in Canton with his young daughter. Employees concerned that he might have been intoxicated while leaving with the child called police. A short time later, an officer’s body cam captured something truly heartbreaking.
Jordan Miller News reported that Gracie allegedly became angry inside the restaurant and threatened an employee. Officers from the Jackson Township Police Department responded to a call about a patron’s disorderly conduct. An officer’s body cam posted to social media captured Gracie in a verbal confrontation with police. The officer asked him to put his daughter down, but the father refused. The child cries and begs, “Please.”
Gracie walks away from the police officers and tells them they could “shoot me in the head.” He denies drinking that night but appears intoxicated in the video clip. He slurs his words as he continues walking across the restaurant’s parking lot. Gracie threatens a physical confrontation with police and accuses them of “entrapment.” While his daughter sobs, Gracie refuses to give the police his ID and says he doesn’t know his social security number.
“Please, please, please. I don’t want you to take my daddy,” the terrified child cries in the video.
When Gracie refuses to put the child down after multiple requests, officers ultimately use force to arrest him as his daughter screams, “Daddy!”
A woman shared in the comment section on the video posted by Jordan Miller News that her son works at Bubba’s 33 and reportedly saw the entire interaction with Gracie.
“He said from the moment they arrived something seemed off. As you hear in the video the police officer says he had been drinking before he arrived and he denied it but they found open containers in his vehicle. He was very intoxicated when he arrived and ordered more drinks not just a margarita and the server had cut him off then he became belligerent and said he was being harassed so he went to leave,” she wrote in her comment.
“Kudos to the staff for being aware and taking action that saved the little girl from harm and hopefully he gets the help he needs. I heard she was picked up by her mother. My heart broke for her,” the mom added.
“I truly hope this opens his eyes and encourages him to seek the help and support he needs,” another person commented.
This is some of the most heartbreaking footage we’ve seen. Gracie clearly didn’t use the best judgment, which led to his arrest. He faces charges of child endangerment, disorderly conduct, and obstructing official business. His next court appearance is March 10 for a pretrial hearing.
We hope he gets the help he needs and his daughter can recover from this trauma.
