Teen mom and influencer Isabel Veloso shared intimate details of her life with millions of followers. That included her marriage, raising her baby boy, and her journey with Hodgkin lymphoma. Veloso didn’t shy away from her feelings about death, loss, and potentially leaving her baby boy Arthur behind. The 19-year-old mother had a bone marrow transplant in October 2025, but sadly, it did not save her life. Veloso died on January 10, 2026, but not before penning a heartwrenchingly beautiful letter to her son.
Veloso, who lived in Brazil, shared a letter to Arthur originally posted in Spanish and translated into English.
“Mum is not with you right now and I know you feel it. I know my lap is missing. And that smell you are looking for in the air is not yet there… but i want to tell you something,” she wrote in her letter. “I didnt walk away.. I am here through it all. On your pillow, on your favorite toy, the sound the house makes when you wake up. And mainly … i am inside the reason that got me up one more time: you, my love.”
Veloso posted the letter alongside photos of her holding and smiling with Arthur. “I love you more than any distance can measure. I promise i’ll be back soon.. Mommy,” she added.
The looks on both the mother’s and the son’s faces tell it all. They were connected at the heart and brought each other so much joy.
Following Veloso’s death, many commented on her post, heartbroken for Arthur.
“It hurts to read this today, knowing he will read it one day with a lump in his throat for losing you so early,” one follower wrote.
“I believe that every mother reading this hurts the soul,” a mother agreed. “To the people who have so much to thank, I’m here right now lying next to my daughter, healthy, there people don’t complain, be grateful, be grateful, just be grateful.”
Veloso’s father, Joelson Veloso, donated bone marrow for her surgery in October, according to Brazilian news outlet Mix Vale. At first, the surgery appeared successful, but after a few days at home, doctors admitted Veloso in November to Hospital Erasto Gaertner at Curitiba. She remained there until her death.
We cannot imagine the grief her family feels. Arthur may not grow up with his mother, but her love for him is undeniable. May he always have these photos and words to comfort him.
