8 Teenagers Injured in Mass Shooting at Philadelphia Bus Stop

Police in Philadelphia need the public's help identifying multiple people involved in a shooting on March 6 at a bus stop in the northeast area of the city. At least three people are suspected of opening fire from a parked car near a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority bus stop in the Burholme neighborhood. Police confirmed the eight victims were all high school students at Northeast High School and were between the ages of 15 and 18.

Incredible footage from the shooting scene was uploaded to X by @blogan22 and shows witnesses tending to teenage victims on the ground, bleeding from apparent gunshot wounds. According to NBC News, this was the fourth shooting involving SEPTA buses in the past week.

Dozens of shots were fired.

Eight teenagers were shot more than 30 times while waiting at the bus stop near a Dunkin' Donuts restaurant at 7300 Rising Sun Ave. in Philadelphia about 3 p.m. Wednesday. The victims each received multiple gunshot wounds, and two were listed in critical condition. Police believe three masked suspects in a parked car are responsible for the mass shooting.

"It's hard to sit here and see that in three days we have had 11 juveniles shot while going and coming from school," Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel during a news conference.

The shooters' vehicle was reportedly caught by surveillance.

The suspects are considered armed and dangerous, according to a post on the Philadelphia Police Department Facebook page. Police are looking for three male suspects who appeared to be traveling in a dark blue Hyundai Sonata. Surveillance from the Dunkin' Donuts shows three men dressed in black with their faces covered run up to the area near the bus stop and open fire. They then jump back into the Hyundai and leave.

According to ABC 6, police believe they found the getaway car at an impound lot after it was towed from the 400 block of Roselyn Street Wednesday evening.

Witnesses rushed to help.

Holly Castor told ABC 6 she heard gunshots and saw the victims on the ground.

"He was shot in his back — his spine," Castor said. "I put pressure on it. There was a lady on the phone with 911. Because he was sitting, they told him to lay on his belly so he could stop the blood."

A woman who works at a nearby diner told ABC 6 she also heard gunshots and said something has to give in a place known as the City of Brotherly Love.

"These children are dying every day out here, somebody's got to do something. This doesn't happen in this neighborhood," she said.

Bystander footage is sobering.

In footage posted on X, a group of men and women surround the teenage victims, who can be seen clutching their bloody wounds. One male victim can be heard sobbing in what appears to be both pain and fear. The scene is chaotic as bystanders and victims alike yell for help. Many jumped in to care for the victims until emergency responders arrived.
