Moms Share Hilarious – & Threatening – Encounters They’ve Had With Toddlers at Day Care Pickup

Children are unpredictable. The older they get, the more autonomous and uninhibited their actions become. It’s one thing to be shocked and surprised by your own children’s antics, but there’s the additional wild card of what their friends and peers might say or do as well.

Plenty of parents have been shocked, appalled, or just flat-out tickled by some of the things their kids’ day care buddies have done. And some have now shared these stories on Threads, spreading the laughs around to the rest of us.

Brionna Jona shared what a toddler did to her when she was just trying to take her twins home.

It began when Brionne Jona shared her story about picking up her twins from a new day care for the first time.

“I picked up my twins from their first day at their new daycare today and a toddler thought I was stealing them. He grabbed my leg from behind and bit me 3x under my butt. I had one twin in each arm so I could only scream THERE IS A KID BITING ME! And kicked him off of me!”

Others shared their stories of the toddler patrol.

That led to other moms sharing similar stories about the other overprotective toddlers who patrol their children’s day cares.

“My husband usually does the drop off and pick ups. (Long short story: our son doesn’t do well with me doing it),” Shana Kant wrote. “And when he got moved to the toddler room earlier this year, most of the kids there had never seen me. So when I rocked up to pick him up one day, three toddlers CORNERED me and demanded to know my name, and if I was really Zachie’s mom and where did I live. One 3yo kid had his shovel in my face the entire time and did not put it down even with my son clinging on to my neck.”

An aunt said she also met some pushback at pickup time.

“I’ve gone to pick up my nephew and several times ALL the kids have sat and blocked the door so I could not take him,” she wrote about the less than warm reception she got from the kids. “The little people are looking out for their own.”

Although folks expressed empathy for Brionna’s pained buttocks, many commended this young person for his bravery and courage.

Many people saluted this brave, biting toddler.

“I am deceased,” one Threads user, aglow50, wrote in response. “Side note: I hope that day care is compensating their security well. Extra juice boxes and all the fruit snacks they want.”

Someone else echoed the sentiment, writing, “I’m sorry I cackled and I’m not even mad. That baby is a real one. No one is taking his friends under his watch.”
