Mom Captures the Moment Her Baby Drops Mid-Kettlebell Set & the Internet Is Stunned

If you’re used to exercising, pregnancy can throw your whole program for a real loop. Aside from just how darn tired you are, there are definitely tweaks you might want to make to your routine to make it safer for you and baby. Not only did one mom-to-be stun TikTok with a recent video where she was working out at nine months pregnant — but commenters' jaws really dropped when the footage managed to catch her baby dropping mid-set.

Jamie, or @Weirdjamie as she goes by on TikTok, is a self-described “fitness junkie,” but it seems like even she was pretty shocked at what happened to her at the gym.

There she was, doing kettlebell sets like baddie, when BOOM — baby drop.

“[Point of View] you feel the baby drop down mid set,” she wrote in the video from March 28’s text overlay. The video shows the mom-to-be taking a few swings before she has to bend over with her hands on her knees after the drop happened. The mom, who is due April 12, then grabbed her bump and looked at the camera, clearly shocked.

“I nearly peed myself,” she wrote in the video’s caption.

Understandably, some people had to do a double take.

"That was really cool to see! You normally never catch them dropping lol," one commenter wrote.

"I mean that’s one way to induce labor!" someone else chimed in.

"I admire you so much! I can’t even lift the edge of my MATRESS without bleeding it’s so frustrating!" another commenter exclaimed.

Other people just had jokes.

"Baby’s like 'you’re done, you’re done,'" wrote one person.

"Um, I’m 38 weeks and I successfully put socks on today," joked someone else. "Go mama!"

"If I even tried to do this once during my pregnancy I would have peed and pooped my 2nd son was LOW," another commenter shared.

Some people were clutching their pearls over Jaime working out in the first place.

"Why is she doing this 38 weeks pregnant?" one commenter wondered.

"Probably not safe lol," a second commenter guessed.

"Gosh, the risks," a third commenter mused.

It's understandable why some might worry about putting your body through stress while pregnant, but according to Healthline, weight training can be a perfectly safe part of a pregnancy fitness routine. The website advised that expecting moms speak with their doctor before attempting a new routine.

“Pay attention to how your body is feeling each time you exercise and change your routine accordingly,” the website explained. “And if you experience any warning signs, take a step back and reevaluate.”

Or as Jaime herself put it in response to one commenter: "I’ve been working out like this since before I got pregnant & continued once getting pregnant per the recommendation of my Drs."

Later in the thread, she told another commenter that she was working out to make her labor and recovery go more smoothly, adding that she was lifting a kettlebell that weighed only 25 pounds. "Everything is a-OK," she wrote.
