We have all heard plenty of horror stories about parents on airplanes. From not controlling their children, to being a general nuisance, parents don’t always have the best reputation. Recently, one mom earned her spot in the group of misbehaving parents on planes when she demanded a fellow passenger give up her window seat for the woman’s child.
Of course, every kid likes to seat in a window seat on the plane, but unfortunately there are only so many. Once the video of the confrontation made its rounds, people on social media called the mom out for her demands.

The video has gone viral.
The confrontation happened on a GOL Airlines domestic flight in Brazil, Jam Press reported, per the New York Post. A video of the incident, taken by the mom, has been making its way around social media since she shared it.
In the video, she confronts the other passenger, Jennifer Castro, about giving her child the window seat.
The whole situation was odd for one reason.
According to the article, the family had a window seat already. But for an unknown reason, the kid wanted Castro’s specific seat. The mom continues to badger Castro about the seat.
To her credit, the younger woman basically ignores the mom and her demands, sitting with her earbuds in. She only responds once to ask if she’s being filmed.

Her video was meant to embarrass Castro.
Following Castro’s refusal, the mom pulled out her phone and began filming the interaction. “Why doesn’t she want to change seats?” the woman demanded. “I even asked if she has some kind of syndrome or something. If someone has a problem, some disability, we understand.”
While she says she understands, she doesn’t seem to understand that Castro wasn’t obligated to give up the seat she paid for. “I’m recording your face, this is disgusting,” the woman tells Castro, declaring people have “no empathy for children” in the 21st century.
The mom's plan definitely backfired.
The mom was in for a rude awakening if she thought she would get empathy or understanding on social media. People called her out for bothering Castro and demanding the seat swap.
“I felt sorry for the girl, she just wanted a peaceful trip,” one person commented, according to the outlet. “Buy and choose the seat and don’t disturb others. No one is obliged to give up their seat.”
“This girl needs to be smart and file a lawsuit against this rude and clueless mother,” someone else suggested.
“Why didn’t she ask the captain to step down to let her son fly the plane?” someone else quipped.
