When you buy a product at a store – especially a well-known store – you have certain expectations. For example, if you’re buying food, you expect that it will be good quality. That’s especially true as food gets more expensive. A mom on TikTok was shocked to find the Nutri-Grain snacks she bought for her toddler from her local Walmart covered in mold.
The mom took to the popular social media app to share her experience and to remind fellow parents about the importance of checking your kids’ food before you feed them.
What she found was a total surprise.
The mom, who runs the account @dailydealdrop1, made a “PSA,” aka a public service announcement, for fellow parents. In the video, she is seen going through packs of Nutri-Grain Bites snacks. Many of the bite-sized bars she pulls out have noticeable mold on them.
“You have to be checking before you give your toddlers snacks because I just got these from Walmart, and they’re literally all molded,” she says in the clip. “This is so disgusting,” she continues, holding a snack to the camera.
She says she believed the snacks would be “perfect for little toddlers” because of the smaller size. “I have a 1-and-a-half-year-old son,” she explains.
The mom calls the discovery “disgusting.”

People had lots of things to say.
“We used to have regulations that prevented that but someone doesn’t like safety rules & changes that!” one person wrote.
“Don’t shop for food at Walmart,” another person warned.
“You need to be checking the expiration date. Walmart employees do not rotate their food. always look at the expiration date and also bring it back. Get your money back and call the company,” someone else advised.
Another commenter took issue with the suggestion to shop at places other than Walmart. “Everyone being like ‘this is why we never shop at Walmart’ need to realize that more expensive stores are a privilege. nutrigrain needs to do better quality checks so families who can only afford walmart don’t get sick. all food stores needs to be made equal. more money should equal a better quality of food,” the person wrote.
She posted a follow-up video.
The mom posted a video in response to a commenter wondering what the expiration date was. After looking at the package, she shares that the expiration date isn’t until September 2025. That’s still several months away from the date she made the original video.

“So, if you have recently bought these from Walmart, the little Nutri-Grain bites, I literally opened them up for my toddler; I’m so glad I looked at them,” she says in the new clip. “They’re absolutely disgusting.”
“I had a few boxes with the same date and they were disgusting. Got a refund,” one commenter wrote.
