My Doctor Told Me I Was Pregnant — & I Hadn’t Had Sex in Over a Year

Remember that magic moment when your pregnancy test came back positive? Well just image that you were TikToker Samantha Gibson, or @gibson_sammi, who received a positive pregnancy test seemingly from thin air.

“I’d not done it in about a year or two,” she said in a video.

Of course, the internet needed more info.

Which she gladly gave in a follow up video.

“I went to the doctors for a blood test, it came back that I was pregnant — bear in mind that I’d not done it in about a year or two,” she explained in the video from September 12.

Gibson first went to the doctor’s because “I was getting dizzy spells and I was getting really bad stomach pains, it was like a stabbing pain in my stomach like two or three times a week. When I got it, I literally couldn’t move, I couldn’t walk.”

Her doctor asked her to get a blood test.

They told her that she had high levels of HCG — and told her “you’re pregnant.”

“I said, ‘I’m not pregnant, I literally haven’t done it about a year or two, it’s impossible!'”

“They made me do a strip test, you know where you go for a wee and all that, and that came back negative and they said, ‘Well we’ll just do another blood test, just for precaution,’” she recalled.

She took the blood test — and never heard from her doctor again.

Now, “months and months” after her pregnancy scare, Gibson has yet to have a baby — leading her to believe she was never pregnant in the first place.

She guessed that it’s possible her blood test got mixed up with another patient’s and that her doctor forgot that she’d come in for pain — not a pregnancy test and he'd simply let it go because she wasn't pregnant. But still, the whole situation is a mystery.

“Sorry I’m not the next Mary,” she wrote in the video’s caption.

Clearly this is a case for TikTok detectives, who had some ideas as to why Gibson’s pregnancy test came back positive.

“Might just be a hormone imbalance,” one commenter wrote.

“It could be endometriosis!” another person suggested.

“Ovarian cysts,” a third commenter wrote. “I had rising HGC with a complex cyst plus the sharp pains.”

Later in the thread, Gibson said she knew the ending of her story was a bit lackluster — compared to miraculous pregnancy, that is.

“I’m not pregnant,” she wrote. “Would have been more interesting if I was.”
