Woman Accused of Feeding Pregnant Woman Lasagna Laced With Drugs To Cause Miscarriage

An Iowa woman is facing charges after attempting to induce a miscarriage using a drug-laced dinner. Amber Snow allegedly prepared a lasagna and added drugs to it before delivering it to another family. A lasagna isn’t something that is quick and easy to prepare, so it’s clear she put some thought into poisoning this woman. No one would spend over an hour preparing and cooking a meal if they weren’t being intentional. Although it’s known that Snow shares a child with someone in her victim’s family, her motivation for trying to cause a miscarriage is unknown. It sounds extremely personal.

The whole thing was planned meticulously.

Snow was arrested on March 10, 2026, People reported, citing a news release from the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the authorities, the 36-year-old Decorah resident worked alongside a co-conspirator to induce a miscarriage.

In January, investigators were tipped off about a “family size pan of lasagna” a family received on December 28, 2025. The family believed the dinner had been laced with some sort of controlled substance.

Police said Snow and her co-conspirator “tainted” the lasagna. It was tested, and the drug turned out to be oxycodone.

The Decorah Leader reported that Snow has a minor child with members of the victim’s family, per the complaint. Allegedly, the child knew Snow was making the food “to cause a miscarriage to a pregnancy of a woman in the family that received the lasagna.” KCRG reported that her child objected to Snow’s plan.

Thankfully, no damage was done.

Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office

The pregnant woman had no idea she was the intended recipient of the tainted lasagna, KTTC reported.

Both she and the fetus were safe, the sheriff’s office told People. Authorities did not share if the woman had eaten the food or how far along in her pregnancy she was at the time.

According to both KTTC and KCRG, Snow’s arrest is the result of police finding conversations between her and the other person. She has been charged with controlled substance violation, attempted non-consensual termination of a pregnancy, child endangerment, administering a harmful substance to an adult, and administering a harmful substance to a juvenile.

She was being held on a $100,000 bond at Winneshiek County Jail. Additional arrests are imminent, police say.

The public has not been kind to Snow.

When the story was shared by digital creator Mark Dohner on Facebook, people didn’t hesitate to share their opinions.

“The hills have eyes lawdddd,” one person wrote. “Holy hilbilly hell,” someone else added.

Referencing the sweatshirt Snow wore in her mug shot, another commenter wrote “More like the nightmare after Christmas.”

Apparently, the sweatshirt was an admission of guilt, at least according to a different commenter. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, people who wear Nightmare before Christmas merchandise should be automatically arrested. They’re guilty of something, even if we don’t know what it is yet,” the person wrote.

“Why do I have a feeling they’ll be on Maury in about a year…” someone else mused.
