Queen Elizabeth’s Friend Accuses Prince Harry of Showing ‘Cruelty’ In Her Final Months

One of Queen Elizabeth's old friends is speaking out about the fraught relationship between the late monarch and Prince Harry. To hear her old pal tell it, Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to speak out about the royal family caused the Queen unbearable pain right up until her final days.

According to the anonymous source, the Queen suffered from a great deal of pain in the final years of her life. They believe it started around the time her husband Prince Philip died in April 2021.

"In the final months, of course, it got very much worse; by the time of the Platinum Jubilee [June 2022], she couldn't see very much, she couldn't hear very much, and she was easily confused," they continued.

It was a well-known fact among those who knew her that she wasn't doing well at that point, just three months before her death, which is why her old chum believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex should've known better.

"That was the time for Harry and Meghan to bite their tongue," they continued. "Instead, they produced this unending stream of incredibly hurtful films and interviews attacking her life's work."

The friend shamed Harry for the timing of his memoir announcement.

"For Harry to announce he was writing a memoir when his grandmother was not just recently widowed but actually dying herself, as he must have known she was — well, the cruelty of it takes the breath away," they admonished the prince.

The timing seems especially upsetting to the friend, who noted a recent article in The Sun that claims Harry and Meghan are done talking about the royal family.

"The idea that they are now going to take a vow of silence after all the damage they have done, even if [the report] was true, which I very much doubt, will do nothing to assuage the anger and disgust some of her friends feel about what they did to the Queen in her final years."

Harry was not there when his grandmother died.

Sadly, for Harry, he hadn't had much contact with his grandmother in the months leading up to her death. We can't help but wonder how much of this friend's account is true, and whether the Queen had ever truly let Harry know how she felt about everything that was going on before her September 2022 death.

We truly cannot imagine Harry ever doing anything to intentionally hurt his beloved grandmother. That being said, we can see how people outside of their pair's close connection may have felt hurt on her behalf and assigned Harry blame for how the Queen's final months played out.

The Queen is still sorely missed by those who knew her and those who admired her from afar. We imagine that has caused tempers to still run hot when it comes to all the scandal and gossip that plagued those last years of her life.
