It was just days ago that Kailyn Lowry finally confirmed that she had welcomed her fifth child, a son named Rio, with boyfriend Elijah Scott last year. Even though there had been some speculation, Kail purposely kept the news private until now. But now that the cat's out of the bag, she's giving us glimpses into what her life has been like since Rio’s birth … and apparently, that happens to involve getting creative with her placenta.

She posted on Instagram about drinking her placenta.

"This was the second time I got to work with @lancasterplacentaco," Kailyn captioned the post she shared on Instagram filling her followers in.
In the first short video, you can see someone dressed in a protective suit complete with gloves, blending a smoothie in a Ninja mixer. It looks like something with a lot of berries because of the deep red color.
Kail took it one step further than just the smoothie ...

For some people, the smoothie would have been enough, but not for our girl Kail. Over several slides, she shared pictures of the placenta art she created with boyfriend Elijah Scott. In one picture, you can see the placenta on the counter with a dehydrator, then in another, it looks like the placenta has been cut into the shape of a heart.
"Oh my gosh, I’m scared," said Lindsie Chrisley, who cohosts the Coffee Convos podcast with Kailyn.
While some found the post triggering, many thought it was cool.

Many of Kail’s fans came to her defense, praising her for sharing about her choice.
"This very cool, I love the art," one follower wrote. "Let’s normalize this, nothing gross about seeing what housed our babes for 9 months!"
"My biggest regret was doing nothing with my placentas!" another shared. "Especially my twin placenta, it was so freaking cool."

This isn't the first time Kail has done something like this.

Back in 2020, after the birth of her son Creed, Kailyn shared a series of Instagram Stories of her drinking a placenta smoothie.
Posing with a drink in a clear cup, she asked her followers, "Can you guess what I’m drinking?" Hours later, she shared another snap of the half-full cup with the caption, "If you guessed my placenta, you're right!"
"Blended with fresh fruit & almond milk," she shared. "Couldn't taste the placenta at all!"
Medical opinions are divided on the benefits of placenta consumption.

There are a lot of medical professionals who think that the health benefits of consuming your placenta are nonexistent, while others will give you the go-ahead.
OB-GYN Sara Swift told People, "There is no proven scientific evidence that placentophagy is beneficial — no increase in breast milk production, as it can actually have the opposite effect, and no benefit in mood, etc. — all the benefits are thought to be placebo effects."
