Demi Moore Visits Ex-Husband Bruce Willis Every Week When She’s in LA: ‘In a Stable Place’

Demi Moore and her ex-husband Bruce Willis got divorced in 2000, but Demi still checks in on him regularly. Bruce, 69, was initially diagnosed with aphasia, but his family later shared that he had received a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia. “Bruce has always found joy in life — and has helped everyone he knows to do the same. It has meant the world to see that sense of care echoed back to him and to all of us,” Bruce’s family wrote in a statement at the time. On Friday, September 13, Demi, 61, provided an update on Bruce’s health condition while she was on The Drew Barrymore Show.

Drew Barrymore asked Demi how Bruce has been doing.

On the show, Drew and Demi spoke about working with Bruce on the 2003 movie Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. “How is he right now?” Drew asked Demi. Demi, who was married to Bruce from 1987 to 2000 and shares three adult children with him, shared that “given the givens, he is in a stable place.”

Demi revealed that she visits Bruce every week when she's in Los Angeles.

Demi still has a close relationship with Bruce despite their divorce. On the show, she revealed that she still visits him regularly. “When I’m in LA, I go over every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share,” she said.

She also shared the advice that she has given her daughters. “What I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment,” Demi explained. She added that “from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness.”

“I see love when I’m with him, and it’s my dad and he loves me, which is really special,” she added at the time.

Rumer Willis has said Bruce is 'a girl dad through and through.'

Demi and Bruce’s eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, 36, recently shared that her dad is doing well. In August, a fan asked about Bruce as part of a Q&A on Rumer’s Instagram Story. “He is great,” she responded at the time. “I love him so much. Thank you.” Rumer also shared a sweet update in May when she spoke about what her dad is like as a grandfather to her 16-month-old daughter.

“Lou is just starting to walk a little bit and she was walking over to [Bruce] and it was so sweet,” she told Today’s Hoda Kotb in May. “It’s so nice because I feel like my dad is just, he’s a girl dad through and through. It almost unlocks that kind of little kid, girl dad thing.”

“He’s so sweet with her,” she added.
