Outrage Mounts Against Influencer Megan Gower Over Disturbing Social Media Behavior Toward Daughter

When a mom‘s disturbing behavior is caught on camera and posted online, it’s bad enough. But when mom influencer Megan Gower willingly shared her behavior toward her young daughter in a live stream on social media that she didn’t hide, it left many wondering what they don’t see. And people were outraged about the way Gower treated her daughter versus her son during the live stream.

In clips from the since-expired stream, which have gone viral on TikTok, Gower is seen shouting and swearing at her daughter to get out of her room. She then speaks more softly to her son and refers to her daughter in more expletives. As her daughter cries off-camera and says she “wasn’t doing anything,” Gower responds to comments on the live and shouts more, seemingly defending her behavior.

Mom influencer Megan Gower’s behavior toward her daughter versus her son is alarming.

Elsewhere in the live stream, Gower says she isn’t going to be “fake nice” to her daughter just because she is on a live stream. For viewers, it isn’t so much about wanting the influencer mom to be fake but rather to speak more kindly to her kids, specifically her daughter.

“You’re gonna get the real deal. This is how it is,” Gower says to her viewers in the stream. “It’s on live, off live, b—-, I don’t give a f— what somebody likes.”

Then, when her daughter asks if the viewers like her hair, Gower tells her daughter, “Nobody f—ing said anything about your hair.”

Gower threatens to shave her daughter’s head and then tells one of the viewers who comments about having all boys that she “don’t want no f—ing girls.”

When another TikTok user shared a video from Gower’s live stream in a separate post, comments poured in against the mom and how she speaks to her kids.

One person commented, “Narcissistic mothers often hate their daughters.”

Another wrote, “She hates that little girl with a passion. I feel so sorry for the daughter. No peace in your own home. Your mom is your biggest hater. Sad.”

She released an apology video.

After the footage from Gower’s live stream went viral, she released a video to apologize for her actions and her language toward her daughter. A clip of that made the rounds on TikTok too, with Gower saying in the video that she wanted to “take accountability” for what she did in her live on social media the previous day.

“Nobody deserves that, especially my children,” Gower says in her apology video. “Unfortunately, I have some very dark, deep-rooted things inside of me that I have been working to heal from for the last two-ish years, and some of those things still come out whenever I am triggered. I am not a perfect mother, I have never claimed to be. Unfortunately I was very triggered yesterday, I was very overstimulated, and I exploded.”

When that video went viral, users were quick to point out in the comments about how wrong they believe Gower still is, especially with her choice of words.

One person commented on a shared video from her apology, “You said to your daughter ‘I will knock you out’ ‘I will hit you upside your f—ing head with this’ ‘I will pull your hair out and leave you bald headed’ this is not “overstimulation” this is abuse.”
