Not to sound too privileged or whiny, but this past week, our family of seven has been in the midst of some major home renovations that have left me without a kitchen, laundry room, or mudroom.
In the middle of all that, our state, like many, has been under a heat advisory with a massive heat wave sweeping across the nation. I have been battling endless dust from the home renovation work, cranky kids from the heat and lack of a working kitchen, my own remote work, and the chaos of five kids home for the summer.
So it was only fitting that my air conditioning would break, too. At one point, the heat index reached over 105 degrees, so that was fun. I don’t think any of us slept for days because our house was so blistering hot, even at night.
On top of everything else, I am a naturally sweaty person who just happens to be in the middle of the joys of perimenopause, so when I say I have relied on outfits that will help keep me cool this summer, I 100% mean it.
And my go-to beat-the-heat summer outfit has been none other than this affordable $20 Amazon jumpsuit that comes in a variety of colors.

I bought this jumpsuit in the color pictured on a whim, and it has basically been my summer uniform ever since. In fact, I’m literally wearing it right now as I write this article.
The heat has abated a bit (thankfully), but it’s the outfit I reach for when I want something comfortable that lets me get work done around the house and still be ready to leave in a moment’s notice. I happen to have a sunburn right now (I know, not my finest move), and I love how loose-fitting the jumpsuit is.
It’s incredibly comfortable and great for those days when you can’t stand to have a tight piece of clothing on. (Um, every day for me?)

I pair the jumpsuit with a seamless tank top underneath (no bra required) so everything about the outfit feels easy-breezy. The listing shows how you can roll the pants up for an even breezier look, but I tend to just leave my pants loose and free-flowing.
The jumpsuit comes in multiple color options (the pink is so cute!) and sizes XS through XL. I went with a size large, my normal size, and despite the fact that I have short legs, the leg length is completely fine on me and required no tailoring or rolling up.
I also love that the jumpsuit has pockets on both sides — it makes it super easy to put my phone, keys, or whatever else I need in my pockets as I run around the house cleaning or pop out to take the kids to the pool.
And as the title of this post would suggest, I’m a mom who sweats a lot, so that’s a key feature in this jumpsuit: it’s quick-drying. Even if you’re sweating buckets, the material (it’s a 60% polyester, 35% cotton, 5% spandex blend) dries quickly and doesn’t leave any lasting visible sweat marks, which is a win for us sweaty moms.

I’ve worn this jumpsuit wash-and-go plenty of times (there will be no ironing in my life these days, thank you very much) without a lot of wrinkle action. I’ve even had some compliments when wearing it, despite having worn it all day working and cleaning and sweating, so there’s that.
Overall, I’ve been very pleased with a $20 Amazon purchase that is getting me through some of the hardest — and hottest — days of summer. And I’m not the only one, as this jumpsuit is a best-seller on Amazon, with over 1,700 reviews and average 4-star rating.
“I absolutely love these outfits,” explained one shopper. “I have at least eight of them all different colors no matter where I go. People come up to me and ask me where I got my outfit. ? They absolutely love it. I love them and perfect for the heat in Nevada.. they are comfortable and stretchy. I can’t say enough good things about them. If you’re on the fence try them you’ll get addicted.”
