Shortly after Tom Brady and Sofía Vergara sparked romance rumors, a report alleged that Tom was not interested in pursuing a long-term relationship with the Modern Family actress. The reason? He reportedly thinks she’s “too old” for him. But now, Tom Brady’s rep has responded to the claims and said they’re “pure fiction.”
Tom and Sofía’s relationship has been described as a ‘summer romance.’
Tom, 47, and Sofía, 53, were recently spotted spending time together on the Luminara superyacht. Page Six alleged that Tom “asked to switch seats to sit next to (Sofía) at dinner.” Then, they reportedly continued spending time together in Ibiza. A source told the new outlet that they’re enjoying a “summer romance.” Sofía even shared a photo of the two of them together on Instagram.
Another source claimed it’s nothing more than that.
After the romance rumors emerged, a source told The Daily Mail that Tom and Sofía’s relationship would never evolve into anything other than a summer fling. A source told the publication that Tom thinks Sofía is “beautiful” and even “his type,” but he reportedly isn’t interested in dating right now. The insider alleged that he’s only interested in “flings and hookups” at the moment and is “not looking to be settled down right now.”
But even if he were looking to settle down, Sofía would not be the person he chose to do that with, the source claimed. “He isn’t going to start a relationship with her as she is older and stuck in her ways,” the source alleged. “He knows he could only take her in small doses.”
Tom’s rep has responded to the claims.
A representative for the former quarterback denied some of the recent claims. Though the rep didn’t say whether Tom and Sofía are dating, the person did say Tom would not describe Sofía in the way The Daily Mail source claimed he did.
“Tom never said, nor would he ever say, anything like this,” the rep told People. “It is pure fiction.”
Tom’s ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, recently welcomed a child with her boyfriend.
Tom and Gisele filed for divorce in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. They share two children. In February 2025, Gisele welcomed her first baby with boyfriend Joaquim Valente.
Meanwhile, Sofía is also recently divorced. Her ex-husband, Joe Manganiello, filed for divorce in July 2023 after seven years of marriage. After their divorce, Sofía said, “My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids and I didn’t want to be an old mom.” However, Joe later said those claims were “not true.” Instead, they simply “grew apart.”
