Family of 5, Including 3 Kids, Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide After Mom Didn’t Show for Work

An Oregon mom and her three children were evidently victims of gun violence in what was likely a murder-suicide. When Hannah Behee didn’t show up for work, there was immediate cause for concern. Apparently, she wasn’t the type of person who would miss work. This led to police showing up at her home and discovering that she was dead. Based on the current evidence, police have reason to believe that her husband, Chad Behee, who was also found dead in their home, was the one who did the killing.

Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports that a woman, later identified as Hannah Behee, didn’t show up for work, KGW reported. When deputies arrived at the Behees’ home, they noticed “suspicious conditions” outside, according to Oregon State Police, who are assisting with the case.

Inside, deputies found five people who were allegedly shot and killed. This included 42-year-old Hannah Behee, her husband, 40-year-old Chad Behee, and their three children, who were 11, 9, and 7 years old.

Oregon State Police are naming Chad Behee as the primary suspect for the shooting. According to Oregon Live, his teen years were plagued with mental health issues. He was allegedly hospitalized for the “fourth or fifth time cutting his wrist,” a guardian claimed in 2002. And at the age of 17, he went to live in a youth shelter. It is unknown how those experiences might have affected him in adulthood. Police are still investigating the alleged murder-suicide.

One of Hannah’s cousins has started a GoFundMe account to cover funeral and burial costs for her and her children. “This devastating loss has left their family and friends in deep sorrow,” reads the fundraiser, which is more than halfway to its goal. “Hannah was a loving mother, and her children were full of life and promise.”
