Modernized Version of the Bible on Audio Book Literally Sounds Like a Reality Show

Have you ever wanted someone from Vanderpump Rules or a Real Housewives show explain the Bible to you, vocal fry and all? Well, you may be in luck, because according to one woman on TikTok, whose name is Kayla, there is an app called Bible BFF that gives you an audio version of the book, along with a modernized way of explaining anything.

The audio Bible on the app sounds like a Gen Z kid is telling you a story. Except, in this case, it’s how Jesus was born and how the entire Christian faith came to be. Honestly, for those who want to learn about the Bible and its teachings, this modernized version may be the way to go. It makes the stories in the Bible almost sound like a reality show, and brings drama to the origins in a way that you probably won’t get from cracking open the Good Book and reading it yourself.

The Bible BFF app is apparently a game changer for those who want to learn, but also want the tea.

@kayy.bible cant believe i found bible bff it shows how much tea is in the bible #bible #faith #biblestories #youareloved #reborn ♬ original sound – Kayla Pickard

In her video, Kayla shares less than 30 seconds of what the modernized Bible sounds like through the Bible BFF. it isn’t an ad for the app, but honestly, it could be, because tons of people in the comment section are here for this version of the Bible. The stories are all the same, and Jesus is still the son of the virgin Mary, but when you hear someone tell you the story as if they’re delivering some major tea, it hits differently.

The audio sample in the TikTok says, “She’s probably still a teenager and she’s engaged to a man named Joseph, who’s a carpenter, and Angel Gabriel shows up and is like, ‘Mary, you’re gonna be a mommy.'”

The audio then describes Jesus as being “built different.”

Angel Gabriel also tells Mary “don’t worry sis,” when she expresses her concern about being pregnant but also a virgin. You know, just Bible things. But for some who are eager to learn about what the Bible says, but aren’t into church or even following along in scripture with a physical book, the Bible BFF could be a real game changer.

“Unfortunately this is how I’d be able to learn a lot of things fast,” someone commented. Honestly, same.

Another user wrote, “Anything sold to me as gossip, is 1,000 times easier to track.” I, too, am guilty of being sucked in when there is gossip, tea, or other similar fodder promised to me. Maybe it’s the millennial in me.

In another video that Kayla shared about the Bible BFF app, there audio about another Bible story. In it, the voice explains the story of Jesus finding a man possessed by a demon with a herd of pigs, which is from Gospels of Matthew (8:28–34), Mark (5:1–21), and Luke (8:26–40). But, in this audio version, the narrator explains that the pigs start “tweaking out” in the story.

Another part of the Bible BFF from one of Kayla’s videos explains a wedding from the Bible, but makes sure to note that the event is “pretty lit.” OK, some of the terminology might be a little cringe at times. But if I had to take reading the physical Bible over this, the Bible BFF would, in fact, be my new BFF.
