Over the summer, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau sparked romance rumors after they were spotted dining together in Montréal. A couple days later, Trudeau attended Perry’s Lifetimes Tour concert at Montréal’s Bell Centre. Around that time, a source told People that Trudeau and Perry experienced “instant connection” and “attraction.”
At the same time, the source suggested the alleged romance was still in the “early stages” with Perry and Trudeau both taking some time to explore their potential connection. Now, though, a different report suggests that the relationship might’ve “fizzled” out already. According to an Entertainment Tonight source, their alleged relationship was always just “casual” and they have both seemingly moved on from it.

Meanwhile, sources that spoke to Us Weekly made it seem like Perry and Trudeau are both still interested in exploring their connection. Though one of the entertainment outlet’s sources seemed to agree that the relationship “isn’t serious,” they said that’s mainly because the pop star is “extremely busy” at the moment. “Justin has made plans to see her when she has downtime in a few weeks when she gets back from her tour in Brazil,” the insider claimed.
Another source implied that their romantic connection is very much still a thing, but “they’ve decided to be much more private about it.” The source added that Perry and Trudeau “are still speaking and are very interested in each other.”

Previously, a report from People indicated that Trudeau was bothered by the amount of media attention their alleged relationship garnered. A political source told the publication that the former Canadian prime minister “didn’t know so many people would find out about the private dinner.”
Additionally, he seemed surprised by the number of people who actually cared about his private life. “He was also surprised by the international interest and how it went through the roof for days,” the source continued. “Justin and Katy are for sure attracted to each other on several levels and had a wonderful time together in Canada.”
