Drunk 13-Year-Old With 11-Year-Old Passenger Overturns Truck Driving at 100 MPH

Sometimes I look at my son and his best friend — both only 7 years old — and my stomach sinks at the thought of the two of them driving. They are both sweet boys but absolutely unhinged when together. The two of them are likely lifers, so I know there will be a day when I have to just take a breath and panic for hours as they drive off to do whatever teens will do. And truthfully, it’s not them driving that worries me as much as everyone else on the road does.

The recent story about a Flagstaff, Arizona, underage teen getting behind the wheel drunk and driving at 100 miles per hour does nothing to ease my fears.

The teen, along with an 11-year-old passenger, allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle about 1 a.m. September 30, 2025. ABC News reported that the Arizona Department of Public Safety stated police got a call about a wrong-way driver headed eastbound on Interstate 40. A deputy watched as a white Chevrolet Silverado — which had been reported missing earlier — crossed a median and then zoomed past them at 100 MPH.

The car hit a guardrail and flipped multiple times. The impact was so violent, the steering wheel ripped off and landed 50 feet from the wreckage, according to People. Somehow, both of the passengers only suffered minor injuries.

In a statement on Facebook, police revealed that the children were at dangerous levels of intoxication.

“Troopers observed 6 out of 6 signs of intoxication in the driver before medics transported them for care. A blood alcohol analysis at the hospital showed the driver had a 0.183 BAC,” the statement shared.

A Department of Safety representative told ABC News that the 13-year-old will face DUI charges.
