My Best Friend Is Pregnant With My Husband’s Baby & I Couldn’t Be Happier

A true blue, ride-or-die best friend is hard to come by. But when you have one, they will often do anything for you. One woman is sharing the story of how her longtime best friend became her surrogate after her husband helped impregnate her.

The friend knew that the woman had always wanted to be a mom. So when she wasn’t able to get pregnant, the friend stepped up and showed how strong the bonds of friendship can be.

The road to motherhood was long.

Kimberley Allen has always wanted to be a mom. But she gave up on her dream at the age of 33 after multiple miscarriages. She and her husband Jamie had made peace with the fact that becoming parents wasn’t in the cards for them.

But then her friend Becki made her an offer she couldn’t refuse: use Becki’s egg and Jamie’s sperm to make a baby.

“For a moment, I thought I’d misheard her — but I hadn’t,” Kimberley told What’s the Jam.

The offer was so generous.

Kimberly admitted that she and her husband sat in “stunned silence” while trying to process what Becki was offering. “I felt overwhelmed and full of her love for her,” she explained. “My child being biologically hers just made our bond even closer. I just remember feeling so happy that I had helped my husband impregnate my best friend — a sentence I never thought I’d say.”

Kimberley knew motherhood may not have been possible for her.

Kimberley shared that doctors diagnosed her with PCOS at 15, and told that it could be hard to get pregnant. Still, she said, “Being a mom was my biggest dream in life.”

She and Becki became friends as teens, and remained close as adults. Becki has three kids of her own, but that never affected their friendship. “I was so pleased for her, and I wasn’t envious at all, and so I stopped wondering when — or if — it would happen for me,” she said.

The three began the process of getting pregnant in February 2022. There were no doctors or agencies involved. Kimberley used a liquid medicine syringe to put Jamie’s sperm into Becki. On their third attempt, she realized her dream of being a mom was about to come true.

“I couldn’t believe it, I was completely speechless when Becki showed us the positive pregnancy test,” the woman said. “All our friends and family were so supportive and each kick felt like a tiny miracle.”

And even though “all eyes were on Becki and her bump,” Kimberley swears she “didn’t feel jealous in the slightest.”

Kimberly could not be more grateful to her friend.

Roxanne Nicola Allen was born in fall 2022. “Our daughter looks very much like me when I was young — no one would ever know or question it if I didn’t tell them,” Allen said.

Becki’s selfless act has only solidified their friendship. “I had always considered her my sister, but now there really is a piece of her DNA in my family,” she said. “I thought my dream of being a mom had been taken away from me for good — but she made it finally come true.”
