Texas mom Angie Melissa Moore called 911 for help on September 7, 2022, claiming that an intruder was trying to climb into her window. By the time police arrived, they found Moore’s neighbor, Cynthia Ming, fleeing from the house naked and covered in blood. Inside, police discovered 45-year-old Moore dead from a gunshot wound to the head. They caught up with Ming shortly afterward and took her into custody. She shared a strange story with the police about Moore and her dog. More than three years later, Ming has appeared in court to receive her sentence.
According to court documents obtained by KCEN, Ming told police she crawled into Moore’s home through a window. Ming claimed she “murdered her” because Moore killed her dog. Emergency crews brought Ming to an area hospital, where police took her into custody. Prosecutors charged her with first-degree murder.
Per KWTX, Ming said she drank Moore’s blood the night of the murder. She pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Law & Crime reported that, according to court documents, Dr. Lee Carter spoke with Ming the night of the murder, and she told him she had been “electrocuted” earlier that night and left her home “bugged out.”
“That’s the last thing I remember, is the light fixture. But then I was talking to the law-dogs (police) about what I did… and I don’t even remember it,” she said, per Law & Crime.
Despite Carter diagnosing her with borderline personality disorder, histrionic personality disorder, and schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type she was deemed sane at the time of the murder. She changed her plea to guilty, and a judge sentenced Ming to 50 years in prison with the possibility of parole in 25 years.
Martha Moore, Angie Moore’s mother, read a song about the incident written by the late woman’s son, Connor, called “Satan’s Puppet.”
“She was Satan’s puppet, and she is going to hell if she doesn’t ask God for forgiveness for her sins,” the teenager wrote. “She shed my mother’s innocent blood … One day it will be worse for her when she stands before my almighty God.”
From the sounds of it, the best place for Ming is behind bars, where she’ll hopefully never hurt anyone again.
