People Call Trump’s Cabinet a ‘Junk Drawer’ After Detailed Portrait Photos Are Released

When Vanity Fair came out with a profile on Donald Trump’s Cabinet, the publication probably suspected that the photos from it would blow up the way they did. Photographer Christopher Anderson is known for almost gritty images of the politicians who he photographs. Per CNN, Anderson has taken photos of high-profile subjects like politicians for decades. But when the close-up images of Trump’s inner circle went viral, people had a lot to say.

In one TikTok where the images were shared, complete with JD Vance, Karoline Leavitt, Susie Wiles, and other Cabinet members, someone commented, “It’s not a Cabinet, it’s a junk drawer.” Other critics of the Trump Administration sort of took that comment and ran with it, adding their own variations to describe those who work closely with Trump. I mean, what did people expect when those images came out to show an unpolished side of Trump’s closest White House staffers?

The photos of Trump’s Cabinet have people talking about every little wrinkle and angle.

@0username8647 These photos look more like mug shots than leadership portraits to me 😬😬 #LIBERAL #currentevents #maga #trump #vanityfair ♬ original sound – Orange is the new black!!!!

The almost gritty look in the images of Trump’s Cabinet members show different sides to them. For Vance, the up-close image of his face shows an even closer look at his pronounced lips and nose with his eyes that are totally not lined in eyeliner but still appear to be. For Leavitt, what many cannot un-see is the many apparent injection marks on her lips from lip fillers.

That’s what many believe those marks to be, anyway. Others have commented on how much older the press secretary looks than her 28 years. And when the user commented on the TikTok post to joke about Trump’s Cabinet being a junk drawer, users ready to poke fun at the depiction of the White House officials added their own spin on the sentiment. How could they not add on to that genius line?

Someone commented, “Every house has one.”

Another shared that it’s actually a “junkie drawer,” to which someone else replied, “in a crack house.”

Others added that they plan to use that line themselves now. And, outside of that specific comment, someone else noted, “Photographer is thinking about the history books in the future.”

Karoline Leavitt spoke out about the article with the photos in it.

After the Vanity Fair article came out, in which the outlet spoke to White House Chief of Staff Wiles, Leavitt spoke out against Vanity Fair. Unfortunately, she didn’t address those theories about the marks on her lips in that close-up image of her. She did, however, say that the article was “disingenuous,” per The Independent.

She also shared some behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram from another interview. But nothing is going to make people forget what the photos actually look like and how many see the Cabinet. So yeah, nice try.
