Jennifer Lawrence Reveals She Gave Up Pet Dog After Biting Her Son

There are very few moments in life that change everything so radically as having a child does, and sometimes, those changes can lead to making sacrifices you never imagined you would have to make — something that Jennifer Lawrence recently learned the hard way.

In a new interview while promoting her movie Die My Love, Jennifer revealed that she had to rehome her dog after she bit her young son, and what happened changed the way she sees all dogs now.

She said her dog felt “scary” after having a baby.

Jennifer adopted her former dog, Princess Pippi Longstocking, back in 2017, but after she and husband Cooke Maroney welcomed their two children into the world, the way she felt about her dog radically changed, as she explained during a screening of her movie in New York City.

“After I had a kid, our dogs became so scary, you know?” she said during the Q&A session, according to People. “It’s almost like I don’t recognize dogs right now, like I just see them as a threat.”

Her dog now lives with her parents.

Her feelings began to change after her dog bit her son, and at that point, she felt she had no choice but to find Pippi a new place to live.

“One of them bit my son, and that made me just wanna obliterate every dog,” she said. “I’m just like, ‘I’m gonna take out you and your f—ing family. You and your friends. I’m gonna go to China and take care of your friends over there. Anyone who looks like you is dead.'”

Fortunately, it sounds like Pippi was able to quickly find a new, safe home with Jennifer’s parents.

Jennifer and Cooke now have a cat.

Now that Jennifer no longer feels like she can be a dog person, she has officially converted to cat lady after she and Cooke adopted their cat, Fred. Not only did she say he’s funny, but she also added that anytime he comes into a room, he “makes it look like a coincidence” that humans happen to live in his house, too.

“They’re so misunderstood,” Jennifer said at the screening, talking about cats in general. “They are a——- and people who don’t like that about cats aren’t getting that that is what is so funny.”

It’s good to hear that she was able to find a solution that kept everyone in her family happy and safe — especially after a scary event like helping a small child through a dog bite.
