What to Know
Amid the rumors that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani‘s marriage is over, all the 49-year-old country singer can do is laugh. During an appearance on a radio show, Blake addressed the reports that he and Gwen are getting a divorce, and apparently, he found out about this the same way the rest of us did — by seeing stories about the supposed situation online.
According to Blake, whatever we’ve heard about his reported split from Gwen is totally fabricated… or at least, that’s what he wants us to think.
He talked about seeing the rumors play out in front of him.
While on Country Countdown over the weekend, Blake said that he’s noticed the rumor mill working overtime when it comes to the status of his marriage to Gwen.
“I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’ ‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, a week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store… ‘Oh, they’re back together again!'” he said on the show. “And another week goes by, and we’re not seen at the grocery store… ‘They’re divorcing,'”
Now, he’s skeptical of anything he sees online.
It sounds like he’s also seen some AI generated photos of him and his wife that have been enough to give him pause about anything he sees online.
“I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘That looks so real.’ But I know I don’t even own that shirt, or ‘Whose car is that?'” he said, adding that he doesn’t “believe anything anymore that I see on the internet.”
The couple seems to be doing just fine.
Earlier this month, Blake and Gwen rang in the new year with a kiss — a PDA moment that Gwen shared on her Instagram Stories. Weeks earlier, a source close to the couple told People that they are “solid” as a couple.
“There is no truth to the split rumors. They’ve just been juggling demanding schedules,” the insider told the outlet. “When they are together, it’s just so obvious how solid they are.”
“Sometimes they spend a lot of family time together and really treasure that, and then there are periods when the focus is more on work,” they added. “They’re both at a place in their careers where they still genuinely enjoy what they do and they don’t want to give that up. Is it easy all the time? Of course not. They have a lot on their plates and a lot to balance, but that’s just how it is when you’re a family and both parents have careers. “
