Prince William and Kate Middleton Stop To Greet Crowd in the Middle of the Rain

Prince William and Kate Middleton have always known how to work a crowd — even in under less than ideal weather circumstances. Footage of the royal couple getting out of their vehicles to greet people who were waiting to see them in the rain is going viral, and so many are praising them for going above and beyond the call of duty.

The sweet moment unfolded in Wales on Thursday.

Will and Kate were in the car, leaving their visit to Powys, Wales this week, when they decided to stop and visit with a crowd that had gathered in the hopes of seeing them — despite the fact that it was raining.

In the clip that was shared on X, the Prince and Princess of Wales can be seen getting out of the car with umbrellas to shield themselves from the rain as they spoke with the people waiting, appearing to spend a little extra time with a group of children who looked so excited to see them.

Kate was really on her A-game.

Another video that was shared by Hello! magazine on Instagram showed one interaction Kate had with a man during the stop, politely turning him down when he asked for an autograph — something that members of the royal family aren’t allowed to do.

“I can’t sign things, I’m so sorry. I can shake your hand, though,” she said, even offering him a hug along with that handshake.

In another moment, Kate was caught on camera playing rock, paper, scissors with some of the kids in the rain. Given her love of children, though, it’s no surprise that she seemed to be having a blast.

The spontaneous visit has earned Will and Kate a lot of points.

The response to their rain stop has been super positive, reminding people why they love Will and Kate in the first place.

“That is so cool that the PPoW stopped to greet the people still waiting for a glimpse of the couple! To stop and take time, especially with the children waiting means so much. Very cool stuff here,” one person on X wrote.
