Over the past few days, Meghan Markle seems to have been all about sharing glimpses of her life on social media — more often than is typical for her, anyway. One of the latest updates includes her 4-year-old daughter, Lilibet, who stepped in to help her mom during a promo shoot for her brand, As Ever… and now, royal fans are reacting to the moment in a pretty strong way, especially considering all the negativity that has been circulating around the royal family these days.
Meghan shared a new video on Instagram this week.
In her caption, Meghan explained that the video and photos were taken during an As Ever shoot, which Lili decided she needed to help her mom with. In the beginning of the video, Meghan can be seen laughing at something Archie’s doing off camera, and before long, Lili runs into the frame to give her mom a big hug (though, as usual, her face is obscured by the table and flowers in front of her).
Another photo shows Lili helping her mom with the flowers, and the final slide in her post gives a peek at her sitting on the bottom of the table while Meghan continues her project.
This will look very familiar to working moms of little ones!
Fans can’t get over how adorable Meghan and Lili are together.
The discussion of Meghan’s post on Reddit is surprisingly popular in one royals-focused group, with many people praising her for the kind of parent she’s proven to be to her kids.
“Did I say how much I love them not showing their kids faces? I also hate it a bit cause I would like to see them but then I remind myself we are not entitled to that,” one Reddit user wrote.
“That’s an engaged parent,” another commenter said. “Not shooing her off because Mummy is busy filming content. Not picking her up and putting her on camera for engagement. Instead putting aside what she’s working on to spend quality time with her child. 10/10 parenting, no notes.”
Others pointed out how negative the media has been towards Meghan, when she’s just at home arranging her flowers.
Seeing such a sweet moment between Meghan and her daughter actually highlighted how negative the press around her and Harry has been recently, which people assumed is the royals’ way of deflecting from the current scandal involving Jeffrey Epstein and the former Prince Andrew that’s still making major headlines all over the world.
“I think she’s a tool for distraction,” one commenter speculated. “Whenever I see the media up the ante on the Meghan hate, I immediately wonder what are we being distracted from?. It’s starting to lose efficacy, though.”
If this is a tactic the royals are using right now, it doesn’t seem like Meghan’s planning on letting it get her down.
