A male middle school teacher from Nebraska has been arrested after being accused of making hundreds of AI-generated child sexual abuse images. If that’s not bad enough, the teacher is also accused of masturbating to the images while at work. How absolutely disgusting! There’s something so sacred and special about the relationship between a teacher and their students. Because it’s their job to give children an education and help guide them through those formative years that are filled with so many valuable lessons, it feels like such a betrayal when someone in that field does not have kids’ best interests in mind.
The teacher is accused of generating AI-created child sexual abuse images.
According to a press release from the Nebraska State Patrol, on April 22, 2026, 47-year-old Matthew Lund was arrested as a part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation. Lund was a middle school teacher at Andersen Public School in Millards Public Schools in Omaha, Nebraska. He was booked into Douglas County Corrections for possession of child sexual abuse material (commonly known as child pornography) and distribution of child sexual abuse material, per the news release.
WOWT reported that 423 images investigators found were generated through artificial intelligence while he was at work at Andersen Middle school. Fortunately, Nebraska State Police did not believe any of his students were victims in this case.
A prosecutor for the case said, “On February 23, 2026, Nebraska State Patrol received a cyber tip regarding sexual abuse of children material being uploaded to a Google account associated with the defendant from the Millard Public Schools,” per WOWT.
Reportedly, the images generated were completely vile in nature.
According to court records, the children in the AI-generated videos that Lund made were under the age of 12, and at least one was an infant, per WOWT. One of the files reportedly featured a child between the ages of 3 and 5 years old naked and facing an adult, per the news outlet.
Disgustingly, another image showed a child of similar age performing oral sex on a man, WOWT reported. There was also an image of two naked children between the ages of 8 and 10 years old, per the news outlet.
Nebraska State Police said it was able to identify Lund as a suspect after serving a subpoena to Cox Communications in Lincoln and pinpointing the IP address associated with the child sexual abuse images, WOWT reported.
A prosecutor said that a search warrant was executed on the defendant’s Google account and 104 files consistent with child sexual abuse material were located, per the news outlet.
The school community is completely rocked by this news.
As you might imagine, the Andersen Middle School community is reeling from this teacher’s arrest.
A Millard Public Schools parent, who wished to remain anonymous, spoke to KETV NewsWatch 7 and said that Lund was “hiding in plain sight.” She said that Lund ran a club that her child attended and he “can’t believe that someone he trusted to keep him safe would do something like this,” per the news outlet.
The parent also shared with KETV NewsWatch 7 that Lund “made a lot of kids uncomfortable, including my son, but he couldn’t quite say why. It, just, something was off.”
The judge has ordered a $1 million bond in Lund’s case and he’s to have no contact with anyone under 19. He also has to have a GPS tracker, KETV NewsWatch 7 reported.
We hope that this community of kids, parents, and other education staff are given the time and tools to heal after having such a repulsive individual working at their school.
