What to Know
I’ve never been on a blind date, and that’s because the whole premise is terrifying. Going out with someone that you’ve never seen or talked to before is very brave, and not everyone has that kind of bravery. And if a blind date doesn’t feel like enough, people are now participating in a stranger photoshoot. The title gives it away, but for those who are unfamiliar, they are romantic style photo shoots set up by photographers with two people who have never met before. One such event recently went viral after one of the people involved began making bizarre accusations on TikTok.
The man is claiming he was “catfished” during the photo shoot, which is kind of impossible.

TikTok user @recoveredmom shared the whole story on her ConspiraTea account. In the first of several videos, she explains that the man, Jacob Huff, got on his own TikTok and allegedly made a five minute video claiming he was catfished by the photographer.
In a clip from his video, Huff shared that he sent the photographer an AI photo of “exactly” what kind of woman he was interested in for his shoot. He claimed that the photographer shared pictures of the woman prior to the shoot, but she refuted that claim, saying the woman he did the shoot with gave him pictures after it was over.
“To claim that you were catfished when you never saw pictures of her to begin with is a bit of a stretch,” ConspiraTea pointed out.
But it seems that Huff had bigger intentions with the stranger photoshoot. Based on what he was saying, he was looking for a “wife,” or someone he could start a relationship with. And the woman he was paired with was not that.
He specifically called out her looks, saying she was too heavy for him. “I’m sorry, I don’t find somebody who is plus size attractive,” he said.
Naturally, people had a lot to say about him.

“He just explained why he can’t find someone on his own,” one person wrote.
“I’m a little confused did the photographer just get two strangers to do a photo shoot and this guy just expected to fall in love and her to be a matchmaker?” someone asked.
“Did he think this was an arranged marriage? It’s literally a photo shoot,” another person wrote.
“He really said he was praying that that girl would be his wife… his expectations were wild,” someone else wrote.
“He’s allowed to have preferences but to talk about her like this is mad disrespectful,” another commenter added.
That first video wasn’t the end of the story.

Paige, the woman involved in the shoot, made a video of her own that was then shared by ConspiraTea.
“If I wanted to look differently, I would change that,” she said, addressing Huff’s comments about her appearance. “But you can’t change the fact that you’re ugly on the inside.”
She then shared that she was contacted by the photographer for the photoshoot, and that she wasn’t attracted to Huff, but went along with it anyway. Ultimately, she said she didn’t give him her phone number, and guessed that “made him mad.”
The photographer shared that Huff had signed up for a stranger photoshoot through a listing she shared on Facebook. She also shared screenshots of the conversation she had with Huff before the shoot, where he sent her the AI image unsolicited. He also asked the photographer to ask the woman if she’d be interested in a date after or maybe getting married during the photo shoot.
Jacob Huff did end up issuing a sort of apology.

And while he allegedly apologized, he also deleted the video of the apology shortly after sharing it. However, ConspiraTea shared some clips after someone else uploaded the video back onto the platform.
“The reason I did what I did is because I’m very insecure,” he said. “I’m very bitter — I hold a lot of anger, resentment, a lot of trauma. I’ve been through it. What people don’t see is the s–t I’ve been through in my life, and it hasn’t been dealt with properly.”
ConspiraTea suggested that maybe he seek therapy or counseling before getting back into the dating world again.
“Guys, I have trauma. So, unfortunately, at this time, I am unable to take responsibility for my actions,” one person commented.
“I feel like he confused a Stranger Photoshoot with Love at First Sight or Married at First Sight,” someone else wrote.
