The “unhappy marriage” allegations are coming for Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, all over again, and this time, the speculation was inspired by their most recent date night. After footage of the couple taking in a World Cup match at Arrowhead Stadium this week went a bit viral, people are convinced that Patrick “can’t even stand his own wife.” They weren’t even sitting next to each other!
Brittany and Patrick didn’t even look like they attended the match together.

In a photo that ESPN shared on the brand’s official X account, Brittany and Patrick appear to be siting in box seats at Arrowhead Stadium for the Switzerland vs. Argentina match— also known as the place where Patrick and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates play during the football season.
Patrick’s sitting a row behind Brittany here, and neither of them look very happy to be there. In one of the photos, Brittany seems to be totally zeroed in on the game while Patrick scrolls through his phone.
Do we think these people realize that this isn’t just a regular soccer game, it’s the World Cup? Look alive, you two!
People are convinced that Patrick has simply had enough of his wife.
Apparently, a picture must still be worth a thousand words, because this one is telling people exactly where these two stand — or so they think.
“Bro can’t even stand his own wife,” one person wrote n a response on X, while another added, “Imagine hating your wife so much that you sit in the row behind her just to stay away.”
“They hate each other and I love it,” another person wrote. “Hope they stay miserable. They both deserve it.”
Ouch!
They were both probably pretty focused on the game.
As a professional athlete, there’s no doubt that Patrick was probably pretty absorbed in the game itself, especially with a game like the World Cup being played in the same stadium he and the Chiefs call their own for most of the year.
Meanwhile, Brittany used to be a college soccer player and is one of the founders of Kanas City women’s soccer team the Kansas City Current, so she’s very much immersed in the sport. If she wanted to focus on the match, who could really blame her for that?
And since she and Patrick were in the box, maybe they wanted to spread out a little? Couldn’t blame her for that, either — as a wife and a mom of three little ones, she was probably taking real glory in the fact that nobody needed anything from her for a minute.
They’ll get another shot at redeeming themselves at another big country club event next year, when the women’s World Cup will give the ladies their time to shine.
