Is there anything worse than finding an ageist and completely sexist comment online? Unfortunately, as women, it just seems to come with the territory because everyone seems to have an opinion, especially about women’s bodies and how they dress. When you’re a woman in Hollywood, things can escalate rather quickly when it comes to online hate, so that’s probably why some choose a slightly more direct approach.
Jennifer’s Body star, Megan Fox, shared a few photos of herself in some sexy lingerie in mid-July on social media and she was instantly met with some unwanted comments and criticism on her post. The really cool part? The actress and author decided to clap back in a way that some might find shocking.
Honestly, wouldn’t we all be posting these kinds of photos if we looked like Megan Fox?
On July 19, 2026, Megan Fox took to her Instagram to share a carousel of photos that showed her in various states of undress. In most of the photos, she’s wearing a sheer bandeau top as well as some lacy underwear and a sheer black veil. She captioned the photos with these words: “men would have them believe disobedience was eves vice, when it was her greatest virtue.”
While there were plenty of supportive comments, like “Thank you for showing us the power of black hair🐺🖤” and “saint megan 🙏🏼,” there was one comment that didn’t quite sit right with a number of people.
One person commented, “This s— is so unbelievably embarrassing for a 40 year old mom to be posting. 16 year old tumblr shit.” If you think that Megan decided to just take that comment on the chin, you’d be wrong!
Megan was simply not feeling that type of comment.
According to People, Megan returned to Instagram in March 2026 after wiping her account of photos in March 2024. So, perhaps she just wasn’t feeling used to the kind of scrutiny that can often come along with having a ton of followers — she has over 24 million followers on Instagram alone.
With over 350 replies to that unkind comment with people jumping to Megan’s defense, including someone who said, “fun fact, you can still be hot at any age,” the actress couldn’t help but tag in herself when she replied, “which one of my exes is this 🧐.”
Famously, Megan was married to actor, Brian Austin Green, for 11 years. The couple divorced in 2021, but they share custody of three kids. She also dated musician Machine Gun Kelly for several years before splitting in 2024. She shares one child with her ex.
Most people tend to be on Megan’s side here as there should be no cut-off date for women trying to feel good about themselves.
While Megan faced some backlash for simply posting a few sexy photos, the internet has mostly turned out to be on her side here. In this Reddit thread, a lot of folks tend to have a pretty good idea of the kind of individual who would leave a comment just like this.
One person shared, “The only people who’d think this is “embarrassing” are either incels or extremely insecure.” Another individual in the Reddit thread said, “Incel commenter energy.”
Another person stated the obvious by commenting, “If I had her body I would be such a godd— menace to society. I would NEVER have clothes on 😂.” Too funny. Another person wrote, “What if I like her posting lingerie photos at 40?”
Several others couldn’t help but beg the question why someone who is 40 years old and a mother can’t fully embrace their sexuality? Otherwise, calling someone embarrassing who is over 40 for sharing some lingerie photos is ageist and pretty sexist, since no one really bats an eye when men over 40 share a sexy photo.
One person shared, “Yeah over 40 people still like sex.” Another individual in the thread wrote, “People can do whatever they want with their bodies. I don’t think it should be policed by strangers.”
