Jennifer Lopez’s decades-long career means that the public has had a front row seat to all of her personal and professional ups and downs (all of which have, somehow, involved Ben Affleck). She’s definitely been judged for her choices over the years, but her new Instagram post about her family vacation is making people rethink the way they look at J.Lo as a person — and especially as a mom.
Jennifer and her kids have been vacationing in Italy.
Before her twins, Max and Emme, head to college this fall, Jennifer has been taking advantage of the quality time she still has with her 18-year-olds. The family has been on a road trip in Italy, and the photos that J.Lo has shared of their adventure so far are enough to make anyone start planning their own trip.
Her most recent post shows J.Lo and her kids visiting different landmarks and enjoying meals together and basically living the Euro summer dream. It looks like she even made time for an espresso martini, which probably tastes 10 times better in Italy.
Alongside the photos, she wrote, “Road tripping with my coconuts before they head off to college,” adding a crying emoji. There are a lot of parents out there who can relate!
People are admitting they might have been wrong about J.Lo.
There’s a big discussion about J.Lo’s vacay photos on Reddit, and more than her travel looks, people are really picking up on the vibes that she must be a good mom, judging by how free to be themselves Max and Emme seem to feel around her — not to mention the fact that they seem to be happy to go on vacation with their mom.
“She may be insufferable but she does seem like she [is] a good mom,” one commenter wrote. “I think it does stem from that JLo has a good relationship with her mom … JLo seems to be really there for her kids and they seem well-adjusted.”
One commenter added, “I’m not a huge fan of hers but she does seem like a good mom! I’m happy to give credit where credit is due.”
Another pointed out that this may be proof that what people have said about J.Lo in the past isn’t true, writing, “It makes me question the narrative that she’s a nightmare?”
Others are still side-eying her kids a little bit.
A lot of Jennifer’s Instagram followers are very bothered by the fact that Max and Emme have their earbuds in or are looking at their phones in some of the photos from their vacation — you know, very typical behavior from 18 year olds.
“Earphones on – ALL THE TIME?????????????? Sad sad sad,” one commenter admonished.
Even Supernanny Jo Frost weighed in with her take: “These kids today they just can’t get off their phones. A beautiful gondola ride and no presence. Parents you can request they look up.”
Hey, if J.Lo is fine with it, maybe everyone else should be fine with it, too? Jo Frost might be Supernanny, but Jennifer is their mom…
