What to Know
Who knew that the one thing a far right conservative group might fear is…itself? Well, maybe that’s not totally the case for Turning Point USA‘s college chapter at the University of Arkansas, but after Erika Kirk and Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders made an appearance at the college, the chapter’s president announced the school’s decision to rebrand as another group and distance itself from Turning Point USA as a whole.
After the school’s chapter of Turning Point USA disaffiliated itself with the company that was once run by Charlie Kirk, its president, Dino Fantegrossi, posted about the decision on Instagram. He was affiliated with Turning Point USA for five years. However, per his post and his statement, the organization shifted into something he was no longer proud of. Of course now, Erika’s biggest critics are having a laugh at her expense as they all assume it has everything to do with her specifically.
The president of the University of Arkansas’s Turning Point USA chapter released a statement.

According to 5News in Arkansas, Fantegrossi released a statement on Instagram that has since been deleted. In the statement, however, per the outlet, the former chapter president who is now leading the group in a different way wrote about why he felt the need to disaffiliate the school and the group with the nationally-known organization that Erika now runs as the CEO.
“It has seemed that this organization has lost sight of what is truly important. We are no longer focused on our guiding north star — that is, fighting for conservative policy, principles, and values,” the statement said. “Instead, it feels that we have become consumed with metrics, creating the next viral cultural moment…we have become reactionary when we need to be proactive.”
One of the biggest issues was apparently Turning Point USA’s way of using Charlie’s death to propel its message forward. As critics everywhere are doing a not-so-suble ‘cough-told you know-cough,’ the University of Arkansas was apparently ready to share with the public this big reason for its distancing from Turning Point USA.
“We have many grievances with Turning Point USA, which we will shortly make known to them in private, but I will share only one. We are generally put off by how Charlie Kirk has been used by TPUSA since his assassination,” Fantegrossi’s statement also said, per 5News. “Statements like ‘Charlie would have said’ and ‘Charlie would have wanted’ have felt in many instances disingenuous and manipulative.”
Turning Point USA chapters are allowed in high schools now too.

They don’t want Erika Kirk or Turning Point in their schools. Their voices matter & they’re speaking up.👏 pic.twitter.com/cj7cZ0BP6a
Before you start wondering how Turning Point USA wormed its way into colleges to get them while they’re young, the organization that is dedicated to conservative beliefs politically and socially also reaches kids in high school. In March 2026, per Arkansas Advocate, Gov. Sanders signed a proclamation that promotes high school-level chapters of Turning Point USA.
But even at the time of the signing, high schools across the United States were home to smaller-scale clubs that promote Turning Point USA’s message. The Turning Point USA website even has information on how to start a chapter in your own high school.
People think the University of Arkansas was “sick of the Erika Kirk show.”

Although Fantegrossi shared his public statement about the University of Arkansas closing its chapter of Turning Point USA and making it into something else, Erika’s critics have their own theories about what happened. So of course they shared those theories, and their thoughts, in a Reddit thread, as one does.
“The far right organization wasn’t far right enough for them, so they started a Christian nationalism group. Got it,” someone commented on the Reddit thread.
Another added, “Seems more like they’re sick of the Erika Kirk show.”
On another Reddit thread about Erika’s appearance at the school followed by the news, someone wrote, “Damn, she sure does kill everything she touches.”
