Britney Spears Apologizes to Anyone She ‘Offended’ With Memoir Including Justin Timberlake

More than three months after the release of Britney Spears' explosive memoir, The Woman In Me, the singer is sharing a statement about the contents of her book. In an unexpected Instagram post Brit made over the weekend, she apologized to anyone she may have "offended" with what he wrote in her book and even promoted ex Justin Timberlake's new single in one fell swoop. Considering how she claimed Justin treated her at the end of their relationship, fans have a lot of questions about this new development.

Britney shared a clip from 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.'

The Instagram post featured Justin and Jimmy performing some of his songs with classroom instruments — a popular segment on the late night show — and Britney took the opportunity to issue an apology.

"I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry," she wrote.
But that wasn't all she had to say.

She also promoted Justin's new songs.

"I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song 'Selfish.' It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laugh so hard ???" she wrote. "Ps 'Sanctified' is wow too."

The last we heard, Britney and Justin weren't exactly on good terms, so what gives?

This comes after Britney's fans made a push to keep Justin's new song off the charts.

Amid the release of Justin's single, "Selfish," Britney's fans have been joining together to stream her song of the same name. Even though it came out in 2011, the song topped the charts as her fans attempted to keep Justin's new song from reaching number one, and days later, both songs remain in the top 10 on Apple Music.

Fans are a bit suspicious about Brit's latest statement.

Britney turning off the comments on her Instagram posts hasn't stopped fans from discussing what she shares, including her apology. Fans have taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to voice their suspicions.

"She was forced to write that by her record label," one fan theorized.

Another person tweeted, "What genuinely offends me is that Britney is always being the bigger person. The only time he speaks on her is when he is throwing shade or trying to save his image."

It seems like Britney really *is* trying to be the bigger person.

Let's just hope that she issued this apology because she wanted to and not because anyone asked her to. After everything Britney has been through, it makes sense that fans want her to be able to make her own decisions — after all, that was a luxury she didn't have for a very long time.
