On Tuesday, Britney Spears' highly anticipated memoir, The Woman In Me, finally hit stores, and now, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this lady did not hold back when it came to talking about even the most difficult moments of her life, including the way her parents treated her growing up. In the book, Britney revealed that her mom punished her for losing her virginity at the age of 14, humiliating her in the process — and that's not the only thing that makes Lynne Spears seem a bit villainous.

Britney snuck out of school to meet a boy as a teenager.
Britney wrote in her book (via The Daily Mail) that she was caught skipping school to spend time with an older boy she wasn't supposed to be with when she was 14. Considering that he was 17, Britney acknowledged that, as a teenager, that's a huge age difference, but it didn't stop her from losing her virginity to him.
"I would go to school like normal at 7 am but leave at lunchtime, around 1 pm, and spend the afternoon with him," she explained. "Then he would drive me back right as school was getting out. I'd just innocently get on the bus and go home like nothing happened."
Eventually, she got caught.
Lynne received a call from the school, informing them that her daughter had missed 17 days, and Britney's brother, Bryan, knew exactly who his sister had been sneaking around with, considering that the older boy in question happened to be his best friend.
"The age difference between me and this guy was huge — obviously — now it seems outrageous. So my brother, who was always very protective, started to hate him. When Bryan caught me sneaking out to go visit his friend, he told on me to our parents," she wrote.
Britney's mom handed down a pretty big punishment.
"As a punishment, I had to walk around the neighborhood all day with a bucket, cleaning up garbage like a prisoner on the highway," she said. "Bryan followed me around taking pictures as, crying, I picked up trash."
Decades later, it sounds like this punishment is something that has really stuck with her.

Britney also wrote about the moment she decided to cut off her family.
She was visiting her family's home state of Louisiana in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic and realized that Lynne had thrown away some of her treasured belongings from her younger years.
"It was during this period of time with my family that I learned that while I'd been in my mental health facility, they'd thrown away a lot of what I'd had stored at my mother's house," she wrote. "The Madame Alexander dolls I'd collected as a girl were all gone. So were three years' worth of my writing. I had a binder full of poetry that had real meaning for me. All gone."
She later added, "In that moment, I made peace with my family — by which I mean that I realized I never wanted to see them again, and I was at peace with that."
Since her conservatorship came to an end, Britney has been estranged from her family.
Although she did reconnect with Lynne earlier this year, it doesn't seem like they have managed to truly reconcile since then.
Now that Britney's book is out, it will be interesting to see how she speaks of her parents and her upbringing — even if Lynne and Jamie don't like what they read.
