Having a child with a severe food allergy can be scary. Brittany Mahomes knows this too well, and she is using her platform to help other parents. Last year, the wife of NFL football player Patrick Mahomes, shared that her young son Bronze was diagnosed with a peanut allergy before his first birthday.
Finding that out was scary for the mom of two, and she doesn’t want other parents to have to live in the same fear.

Brittany is using her platform for good.
In an Instagram post made earlier this week, Brittany announced a brand partnership with Auvi-Q, which is an epinephrine injection used to treat allergic reactions in infants and toddlers. She shared a video of herself along with Bronze and daughter Sterling, talking about the product and how it’s helped her kids.
She understands how important it is for parents to be aware of food allergies in young kids.
“So I have an infant and a toddler both who have severe food allergies and I think it is very important to raise awareness of what a severe reaction may look like if it was to happen to a child,” she said in the video. “Based on my experience, I can tell you that a severe reaction may not look how you think it should look,” she added.
She calls Bronze's allergic reaction 'one of the scariest experiences of my life.'
“Like all moms, my kids’ safety and happiness is my number one priority,” she began the post’s caption. “I recently received an outpouring of support from other moms and parents after sharing my experience with Bronze’s severe allergic reaction to peanuts. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life.”

Parents of other kids with food allergies praised Brittany for using her platform to talk about such an important topic.
“As a FA mama, I want to thank you for bringing awareness to food allergies!! ❤️” one mom commented.
“As a mom of a child with a severe food allergy, let me reinforce that awareness is everything,” another wrote. “Ty for speaking up and supporting. .”

They discovered Bronze's allergy when he was still just an infant.
