15 Celebrities Share Why They’re Done Having Kids

They say when your family is complete, you'll know — and as far as these celebrity parents are concerned, that definitely seems to be true. While some stars prefer to keep their family planning private, others are far more comfortable filling the world in on whether or not they're done having kids — and these parents are done.

Some of them are simply over being pregnant, while others are ready to move on from the baby days for good. And, interestingly enough, more than a few celeb moms, like Kristen Bell, are concerned about being outnumbered by their kids if they chose to have more than two. We certainly can't blame them for that!

Read on for the celebrity moms (and dads) who have decided that they're closing up shop when it comes to the babymaking factory. Of course, they're free to change their minds in the future, but most of these stars sound pretty set on the decision they've made.

Kristin Cavallari

Former reality star Kristin Cavallari has made it clear that after having kids Camden, 9, Saylor, 6, and Jaxon, 7, with ex-husband Jay Cutler, she's all done. "It's so fun but oh God, I'm done, I'm done. I am so done," Kristin said in 2021. "The thought of going back to the baby phase — I don't think I could do it!"

Kim Kardashian

Now that Kim Kardashian is a mom of four (North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm) with ex-husband Kanye West, she feels like she's hit her limit, as she told a fan on Instagram in 2019. "I love my babies so much, but 4 is all I can handle with how busy I am," she said, via Us Weekly. "And each one of my babies needs so much attention."

Mila Kunis

After Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher welcomed two kids, Wyatt (now 7) and Dimitri (now 5), these two are ready to close up shop to keep it simple at home. "[It's hard] when they outnumber you. Right now, we're fine. One hand, one hand. One eye, one eye. Two people, two kids," she told People, adding, "People that have two kids, [they] grow up and they're 10 and 8 and play with each other and take care of themselves."

Arie Luyendyk Jr.

Considering the fact that Bachelor alum Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his wife, Lauren, now have three kids after having daughter Alessi and twins Senna and Lux, it's no surprise that they've closed the book on expanding their family any further.

"I think we're so happy because we have our boy, we have the two girls. And I'm already 40, guys. I can't be having kids any later than this in life. I want to be an active dad. So I think three is OK," Arie said on the Almost Famous podcast in October 2021.

Amy Schumer

After struggling to conceive after undergoing IVF when she and husband Chris Fischer decided they wanted a second child to join their oldest, Gene, Amy Schumer is moving on from that dream.

"We're gonna have just one child and we're just enjoying our little family and I'm just focusing on that," she said on Chelsea Handler's Dear Chelsea podcast. "I'm excited about it, but I was sad. And it's not really something you get sympathy for because it's like, you already have one b—-, shut up. But you know, that's a real struggle people go through. We tried, but yeah we're just gonna have the one perfect little adorable angel."

Tamera Mowry

Former Sister, Sister star Tamera Mowry and her husband, Adam Housley, are done procreating after having two kids, Aden and Ariah. "I'm done having kids," she told Essence. "My kids are at the age right now where parenting is work. You're not just changing diapers and taking really cute pictures with your baby, you know? I am trying to instill some really good characteristics and morals into my children's lives."

Catelynn Baltierra

Fans watched Catelynn Baltierra welcome her first baby, Carly, who she placed for adoption on Teen Mom OG, and since then, she's had three more daughters: Novalee, Vaeda, and Rya. But now, she and husband Tyler are content. "I'm done after this one," Catelynn said on an 2021 episode of the show, reports Hollywood Life. "My body has carried four kids — I am done."

Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell and husband Dax Shepard are always talking about daughters Delta and Lincoln and their funny antics, but don't expect them to add a third child to the mix. In 2015, Kristen confirmed that they are done.

She said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show: "No. No, no. We don't want to be outnumbered. Until, I suppose, I accidentally get pregnant and my third child watches this clip and realizes that he was an accident. Sorry, honey. No, but we're gonna cap it at two."

Jessica Alba

As a mom to three kids (Honor, Haven, and Hayes), Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren have now hit their limit — something she knew while she was pregnant with her third. "Yeah, my friend was like, 'You are gonna have another,' and I'm like, 'No, I'm not,'" she said during an interview with Extra. "I just want a healthy baby. We're good — three is good."

Reese Witherspoon

After having her youngest child, Tennessee James, in her late 30s, Reese Witherspoon knew she was done having children.

"Your entire life will change," she said on her YouTube channel. "Everything you believe, every piece of food you eat, every piece of independence you have. You can't go out without thinking of another person. These are all the things that happen in the beginning, and then it just evolves from there. I find that having little kids is more physical and it's just really hard on your body, so I am glad that I had kids kind of young."

Jennifer Garner

As a mom to three kids with ex-husband Ben Affleck — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel — Jennifer Garner knows she's done, especially given her age (she's now 50). "We've wrapped it up, we're not doing it," she said during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019, talking about the pregnancy rumors that commonly plague her.

Kelly Clarkson

With two kids at home (daughter River Rose and son Remington), Kelly Clarkson decided enough was enough even after splitting from husband Brandon Blackstock, and she even got her tubes tied to ensure it doesn't happen. "I am super thankful I'm never going to be pregnant again. I have my beautiful children and I'm done!" she told Extra in 2016.

Nicole Kidman

Talking to Marie Claire Australia (via Yahoo!), Nicole Kidman shared that she and Keith Urban are done having kids after daughters Faith and Sunday Rose, along with her adopted children, Connor and Isabella, from her marriage to Tom Cruise.

"I'm done with babies," she said. "But it's a great time for us as a family because we've got these two glorious children who are such a joy to be around."

Christina Haack

Christina Haack has two kids with ex Tarek El Moussa, Taylor and Brayden, along with Hudson, her son from her marriage to Ant Anstead. And in 2019, she confirmed to Us Weekly that Hudson would be her last. "Oh, no. We're done," she said. "We're done. We're done. We're definitely done!"

Kailyn Lowry

Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry is a single mom to four children — sons Isaac, Lincoln, Lux, and Creed — and that's enough for her. As The Sun reported in 2020, Kail shared a video of baby Creed in his fussy hour, writing, "The reason I'm not having any more kids." Fair enough!
